John Johnson. He's committed to Liberty of all places. I think he should be a higher profile recruit.

Gotcha. That makes a lot more sense.

Why because Karr is so good? Johnson is a great athlete, not so much a QB that can read and make the throws. I watched him the dome, he threw 4/5 picks. Karr was just so much better that he breezed through. Then vs American Heritage, I believe he had some turnovers there, Karr as a team is just too much.

I think Liberty is a great fit, they can teach him the position better.

I still can’t believe Teurlings is playing in D1 select.
They seem really great but no way in hell they can compete with Karr

He's too talented. A bigger program should take a chance on him.

I'm pretty sure he is a top 10 louisiana recruit next year - he's a junior. Last year, as a sophomore, he was projected as a top 3 louisiana recruit for 2027.

I think he runs too much upright, but he has the speed and size. He might be a linebacker in college. He likes to play defense more than offense.

So, to answer your question - Yes.

That was my first thought, "Calais must have got hurt". They better rest him for the playoffs now. I think they have a bye next week so that helps.

This, How many really good hs qb's on GREAT teams don't get highly recruited or get overhyped even when they lack the accuracy and giddy up on ball for big time fb.

Considering that in MOST of their games 20 of their 22 starters would be starting for their opponents and 2-3 at best of their opponents players would be starting for them.

if 7/7 is good for anything it exposes accuracy , reads and execution when nobody is hitting you.

Not saying this is the case with him, but in my 50 something years around HS fb I've seen many from great teams that were over recruited and many that were under recruited. Now more than ever.

Braylon Calais got concussed on defense and knocked out of the game. As he goes so goes the Cecilia offense.

Is that the same kid from last season’s championship team? He gave Franklinton fits in that game. He’s definitely talented.

the best competition Karr gets is in practice.

Not a knock on many really good football teams. Karr is beatable by a few teams in the state, if they hiccup. If they play their A game there aren’t many teams in the entire country that can play with them.

Johnson is a great hs player but it hard to tell how his skills translate given the tools he has to work with.

Neville slipped by West Monroe by the skin of their teeth.

WM missed a last minute FG attempt that could have won them the game.

A few no calls by the refs, especially on the muffed punt on WM.

WM safety went for the INT rather than the tackle on the last TD by Neville.

A few passes that were just off by a few inches...

Anywho, congrats to Neville on the W. They could meet up again in the playoffs.

Big game next week for WM at Ruston. WM wins, they take District 2-5A title.

I attended the Curtis vs Karr game to check out a rugby prospect. I agree that Karr can be beat if they don't bring their A game. They have phenomenal athletes but lack a good passing game. The Curtis def backs pulled up on a couple of balls that should have been intercepted. Only chance to beat Karr is to stop the run and hope they don't out athlete you.

I saw part of this game on YouTube.

Can somebody explain to me why the Karr players looked like giant-people playing against a high school team?
