tell Texas that...

I played in the UIL playoffs all 4 years in high school, and I agree with your stance 100%. just take into account the extra hours involved with travel in texas. you might need to add one weekend to your proposal

Are we witnessing the last year of the single game first round?

Doubtful, I believe it was voted down last year by a large margin if I'm not mistaken

The reason it was voted down this year is because they wanted it effective immediately (meaning this season) and the proposed end date would have changed some teams district schedules.
January was too late of notice to change schedules so it failed.
If the proposed amendment would have said starting next season, it would have passed IMO

Two 31 seeds losing in the last two years (one being Barbe), you can bet three game series is on its way for round 1.

then how do rainouts ever get made up? I don't think too many teams had more than one district game the weekend of April 20th...

Rainouts get made up in between other district games.

6-5A all had 2 district games the last week on Mon/Wed

I was in Galliano this AM and spoke with a guy who had a grand kid that plays with SL. He said in 52 years they've mad 3 playoff appearances with 1 win.

3 Playoff appearances is wrong info. I know for a fact that they were in last year, 2010, and a few times in the late 1990's when future Auburn Tiger Lance Reynolds was here. Also a few times in the 1980's. But hard to argue that we've had one of the worst baseball programs in Louisiana over the years.

This Senior class has done big things to change that with two consecutive playoff appearances and a top 4 seed this year.

how good does the 4-5a district and 3-5a district have to be to have 4 teams of each district still in the remaining 16 in 5a playoffs? Wow It seems to happen every year. What are they doing to represent so well?

that's a little more normal... I would think they have good baseball demographics around there though.
