Looks like bottom half of 4A bracket was all lower seeds winning round 1... 2-Tigoa (Westgate); 15-Minden (Warren Easton); 10-Salmen (Rayne); 7-Cecelia (Franklin Parish); 6-Lutcher (Buckeye)all go down.

that's a little more normal... I would think they have good baseball demographics around there though.

Youth baseball down the bayou has been terrible/ non existent for a long time. When I was a kid down there if you were serious about baseball you'd go play in Raceland. It has picked up a ton over the past 10-15 years as well as travel ball in the bayou area as a whole.

I see Denham Springs in 3
HLB and STA could go 3, but I'll agree with Gators.
I see Dutchtown over Northshore in 3.

Agree with everything else.

Prolly correct. I imagine CL will throw their Nicholls St signee lefty in game 2 and might be able to pull one out.

Agree, HLB's ace is good enough to take a game like Acadiana found out, but don't think they have enough to take a series.

If CL pitching can mix speeds, they may be able to steal one. But Zachary is probably the best hitting team in the state. Undefeated in district 4-5a is no joke.

I disagree with dutchtown taking it in 3 over Northshore. Northshore is very stout. I see them winning in 2.

I watched the Chalmette/Zachary game online no doubt they are really good but Chalmette had it's chances to make it a game. CL has a ton of power in the lineup so if they can get a good pitching performance they may be able to squeak one out.

and when we had those chances to make it a game they came back with a few more runs. We didn't score with the bases loaded down 4-0, they made it 7-0 quickly. We got the 4 to get to 7-4, they got 2 more right back and that was all she wrote.

Bottom line is they'll be disappointed if they don't win state... That's the type of team and program Zachary has

Wasn’t it the 4th or 5th inning and like there third pitcher before any of that happened?

Cause of a Chalmette base running error. The chopper hit with two outs would have scored at least 1 if not 2, but the runner on 2nd ran strait into the ball.

*Chalmette also had a runner on 3rd they left stranded the inning before. You guys got people on and had a chance to make it a game.

they made it 7-0 quickly.

Also greatly contributed to by Chalmette errors. Pitcher chunked it into the outfield putting a runner on 3rd that scored. Then catcher chunked it into the outfield putting a runner on 3rd that scored. Then pitcher threw a wild pitch that scored a runner.

No doubt, but this is baseball anything can happen in 1 game. We don't have the ammo to win a series with them, but we have enough power and pitching to steal a game.

Bases loaded with 1 out was in the 3rd vs the starter. Chalmette also got a runner to 3rd they left stranded in the 2nd inning. Then they melted down in the bottom of the 3rd with wild pitches and errors and Zachary pushed the lead to 7-0.

Then the starter came out and the 2nd Zachary pitcher threw 3 up and down innings. When the 3rd guy came in Chalmette loaded up the bases and got 2 runs, then 4th guy came in and Chalmette pushed 2 more across.

So apparently St. Aug leads Rummel in the 5th inning, 21-1!
