Typical Big Ten schedule...they backload the schedules to build hype in first part of the season...

The SEC got absolutely embarrassed by the Big Ten and their pressure campaign for the 9 game schedule.

Indiana actually stopped scheduling Indiana st because the games were too close

Unfortunately Indiana's schedule has typically been built to try to best get them to 6 wins and a bowl game. They never really had expectations beyond that. Its embarrassing for a national championship winning program to still schedule like this though. The other powerhouse big ten teams do typically try to play a big time out of conference opponent each year.

I don’t know how anyone sits down to watch four quarters of a good power five program vs a school like Howard or Nicholls.

Nebraska was still a solid add. Maryland and Rutgers were the bonehead additions when the bottom half of the conference is already watered down with teams that put no effort into their football programs.

Aww, poor babies complaining about schedules. Indiana won the Natty, and beat Ohio State, Alabama (meh), Oregon twice, and Miami. Cignetti is right, Big Ten does not whine and cry, unlike SEC schools.

I think the OOC opponents are usually scheduled multiple years in advance. Is it garbage? Yup. Unfortunately, OOC is gonna be garbage until 2030 when they play Notre Dame (OOC through 2029 have already been determined).
