Schedule no longer matters but this is something that SEC fans still care about.

The smart move is to schedule cupcakes for the regular season so that you can get to the playoffs. The Playoffs is the real season. The regular season is just there to get you to The Real season.
There's no point to schedule any tough games during the regular season.

You forgot to mention Clemson which is so disingenuous and instantly gives your response no credibility whatsoever.
Two tune up games is nothing to point at like a gotcha. Without tune up games these smaller schools will die in the future and that should be prevented.
The teams that ritually schedule 3 easy tune up games are the teams we should be judging. Then there’s Notre Dame but that’s a different thread.
