re: Lets be honest: Forget the G5, the Big 12 and ACC have no business being in either

The problem fans on this board have is they equate filled stadiums in the middle of nowhere to superiority. The minute the sport becomes regional the real money dries up and no one cares if 80,000 fans sit in a stadium in Oxford, MS to watch the rebels play the volunteers no different than no one cares if 80,000 want to sit in the sun in Talladega, AL.
I’m a southern football fan so I know to keep this sport strong you HAVE to keep the entire country interested and not become regional. That’s why the playoffs need to continue to expand and every conference needs automatic qualifiers. The best thing would be for Oregon to win it all. It will rejuvenate the west coast high school football scene and get that region back.
If you stick with a closed system where it’s Ohio St and UGA every year then expect the TV contracts to shrink.

Yep. Like it or not, when you chase the Boston Colleges and Iowa States out of the game, you've killed the sport.

Do not sleep on Texas Tech.

I still hold out hope that SMU can pour the coals to the NIL and start being a powerhouse.

People cherry pick individual cases and completely ignore the mountain of cumulative statistics. Probably the most ridiculous form of "debate" used in every aspect of life.

Texas Tech is going to give Oregon all they can handle and maybe more

If the oddsmakers are right, the SEC is going to sport a 3-5 record with wins over Tulane and 2 fellow SEC schools after getting 5 teams in the field and won’t have a contender in the national championship game for the 3rd straight year.

So if you just only allow SEC and Big 13 teams in the playoffs. That means you will include juggernaut teams such as Mizzou, Tennessee, Iowa, and USC.
Are these really the teams that you are very confident in being better than Miami or Texas Tech?

I watch an ACC team (Miami) walk into Texas A&M - the big stadium with loud fake piped in crowd noize and beat an almighty SEC football factory school

Take out pre-NIL Clemson (which is never coming back)

Miami just manhandled A & M, who pistol whipped us. Your take is dumb

What they really want is a four team playoff with Ohio St. and the top three teams in the SEC every year. They really don't give a shite about the rest of the Big 10 either. If they had their way every year would be Ohio St., Alabama, Georgia and one at large SEC team/maybe undefeated Notre Dame team.

Let's be honest, the schools that spend the most money buying players will win.
College athletics is now a joke

What a dog shite post.
As usual, you idiots are taking it too far. The SEC and Big 10 are not the only two conferences with good teams in college football.
Our booty hole still hurts from the arse-raping Florida State gave us in 2023.
Also, Miami just beat an 11-1 SEC team in the CFP.
