Hell that kind of play may have elevated him. The coddling and catering to him probably hurt him more than anything else.

This is so dumb. If you don't think Lebron, a guy who is 6'8, 250 pounds could survive against a bunch of guys who weigh less than him, you are just stupid.

Yes, the game is changed and is less physical. That doesn't mean players are incapable of adjusting their games.

Guys like Rodman, Oakley, Laimbeer………. would have had him curled up in the fetal position. Not just them, the whole league was tough. I watched some old Bulls videos to reminisce and it got me thinking about how Rodman would have broke Lebron mentally very quickly.

He would have grown up in that era though. He grew up in an era where really only Kobe and guys like Zach Randolph really were super tough, gritty players.

If you don't think Lebron, especially after he did the body recomp when he went to the Heat, would have been a force in any era... IDK what you're smoking

These comments are so stupid and almost always emotionally (politically) driven

As if LeBron isn't already built like Oakley but just quicker and a thousand times more skilled

An actual queer who took dick in the arse and got AIDS and raised an abomination of a son dominated in the 80s, and he is a less good version of LeBron

And any football player today wouldn't handle 90s football. What's your point?

Troll right? Dude is bigger faster than ny other player and you're selling on us Isiah Thomas hard fouling him?

Seriously how many nba players from the 80’s could hard foul Lebron without being a dirty cp3/Green crotchshot guy and hurt him?

they may have weighed less, but they wanted it more

You’re stupid if you don’t think what they’re getting paid now affects the game

I don't think the OP is saying LeBron couldn't physically handle those guys. He's saying LeBron couldn't mentally handle those guys. If you dropped him in as is, sure. But, if LeBron grew up at the same time frame as those guys, he'd also not be an emotional pussy. But, he probably wouldn't be the physical specimen we see today either.

Took a different mindset to drive to the rim back in those days knowing you were probably going to take a shot going up.

Personally, I don’t think he could do it mentally even if he was of that era.

LeBron is one of the most physically gifted players in history. He'd thrive in the era that didn't allow zone defense. His passing & court vision would ensure a good scoring opportunity for himself or a teammate on basically every play.

Steph is the real "can't handle 20th century ball" player.

LeBron could physically play in any era the thing about the late 80s however was the fact that dudes would fight and punch and not even get thrown out of the game so the physicality was very different. Liambeer punched people multiple times and never even got thrown out that would be something that would completely mess with LeBron’s mind.

There 100% no doubt would be someone who when LeBron came down the middle would just completely take him out. It would happen.

Players didn’t let anyone bull their way to the basket the way LeBron is want to.
