He's also embroiled in a logo war - apparently he ripped it off from some tOSU dude and he's getting clowned left and right.

Lavar is getting a ton of publicity because he's a living meme. I don't see anything that convinces me that this will translate to actual sales.

who's to say this is really the end product? Seems like more of a marketing plot, which is working.

Per celebs tweeting pics of their orders (Danny Brown, Chad Ocho Cinco etc)
Apparently per these screen shots BBB is getting a large volume of orders and the orders are experiencing a 1-2 week delay (in addition to shipping time)

But he's an idiot. On the shoe's website it says, "No refunds, no exchanges." Think about that for a minute. Not only are you buying a $500 pair of shoes, you're not able to exchange or return them if they don't fit right.

This tells me everything I need to know about this asshat and his business skill set.

Darren Rovell was on the Russillo show today and said he doesn't think Lavar has any idea how many shoes he will sell. So he doesn't know how much they'll cost to produce. He thought Lavar set the price so that no matter how many or few shoes he sells it'll still turn a profit.

Rovell tweeted that they sold 328 pairs in the first 24 hours.

That's 164 grand in revenue and that's not taking into consideration that they may have had a few of the more expensive shoes

Plus, the other shite they sell on that site probably have had increases

Say what you want, but Nike and Adidas would kill to have the publicity his brand has been getting over the past couple days.

The shoes that fetch more than ~300 bucks are usually some combination of super limited, have some sort of story behind them, have some kind of unique design, or carry a premium brand name with them.

Lavar Ball is a nobody in terms of sneakers. Lonzo ball is a nobody in terms of the NBA. BBB is a nobody in terms of clothing companies.

Anyone who thinks these are gonna sell at any appreciable amount is high af.

This post is spot on.

Can't wait til Lonzo breaks his foot in those shitty shoes and the entire family takes a dump. You would think LaVar would put this much thought into helping Gus wife recover from her stroke. fricking loser!

The brand is the dad and not the kids at this point. He may tank but they if he truly has 4600 orders based on their shopping cart number and he's already pre-sold 350 shoes, then as his first few months as a start up he's probably done over 600k. And his website hits are through the roof. He's a celebrity like a Kardashian now. He's got a chance.

If Kanye West couldn't go independent, I really don't think lavar ball can do it.

Like I said in the other thread, he's asking 500 for shoes that won't be ship for 6 months. At least a 50% chance no one gets these shoes in November.

I think there is a perception by some cfo's and gm's that certain players add value to the franchise because of their notoriety. PC SJW's seems to have cut into it. Maybe notoriety is a net negative now.

We find all that out soon. Who perceives Cirque De Ball as baggage? I never saw him play. Now i want to see him play.

I skimmed reviews of his skillsets on here long ago. Too long for my now rotten memory. Once upon a time i could remember what i saw. Now i have get back on track and be a Baller. Was there ever a better sports name?

Actually, think it is a brilliant move...tons of free advertising/promotion and if they sell only 1000, they pocket over 400k in profit. It was not like he was getting a signature shoe immediately with nike/adidas/ua (Paul George just got one this year an someone like Wiggins does not even have one, he just gets a logo put on a standard shoe)....the reward outweighs the risk here, if lonzo is a star they make a killing, if not still probably make between 500-1mill/year on shoes/clothing alone

The advertising only helps if there are people willing to buy the shoes.

The problem for lavar, is that there is no market for these.

"Sneaker heads" aren't into basketball shoes, with the exception of a few Jordan retros. Yeezys, ultra boosts and other runners are what's hot. Sneakerheads can afford a $500 shoe, the problem is, they aren't interested in this shoe.

The other people that can afford $500 shoes are the guys buying LV or Gucci shoes, and they sure as shite aren't interested in some big baller basketball shoes.

The target audience for the lonzo ball shoes are the same consumers that buy lebrons, kd's and kobe's- 12-18 year olds. The problem here lies the price. A 15 year old can't afford a $500 pair of shoes, and a parent won't buy it for them. Further, without having nike or adidas producing the shoe, and the corny arse brand name and logo, the price kids would be willing to pay for this shoe is far below any of the other signature shoes. He priced out the only demographic that would truly be interested in these shoes.

They'll sell a few hundred pairs to celebrities and some collectors, but that's about it. There's a reason these shoes and the pricing are being universally trashed.

For some perspective, check out the nike talk forums. Both sneakerheads and basketball shoe fanatics post there.

Simmons signed a 5/10mil shoe deal just last year.

He would have easily gotten a shoe deal. Even if he balls out, how much will he make annually?

Lillard has a 10mil annual deal. The likes of curry and Durant signed 20mil deals.
