pretty awful...imagine thinking how awesome it would be to be getting a ride to your game in a private helicopter with Kobe Bryant. Probably thought it'd be one of the greatest days of your life.

Kobe’s final NBA game - in which he scored 60 points - will re-air tonight on ESPN at 9 PM EST. A must watch.

Of course the Washington Post Tweets an old article about Kobe’s rape case. POS paper.

The Washington Post just suspended that reporter, so your beef is with her, not an entire organization. The WP acted pretty swiftly so I’m not sure how they’re a POS paper in this scenario, but sweet hot take though.

Washington Post suspends Felicia Sonmez after Kobe Bryant rape case tweets

I'll point out again, on the MSB I'm one of the guys noted for being a Kobe-hater, if you will.

And I've said since the night I saw it, that was one of the cooler sports moments I've watched live.

I don't care how many shots it took him to get there, it was just a cool sports moment.

Damn. Just seeing the victim update.

3 kids gone and 5 families who have been devastated. So tragically sad for all involved.

The Post’s misguided suspension of Felicia Sonmez over Kobe Bryant tweets

quote:

Fearing for her safety at home, Sonmez checked into a hotel on Sunday night. In a phone call with Grant, she learned that she was being placed on administrative leave effective immediately. The Post’s concerns with the tweets, Grant had indicated in an email to Sonmez, were that they didn’t “pertain” to the reporter’s “coverage area” and that “your behavior on social media is making it harder for others to do their work as Washington Post journalists.”

more on that WaPo reporter

after seeing the continued reporting and fallout today from Bryant's death, i gotta say this is really big news. Probably bigger than Prince or whitney houston.

Well Prince didn't die with 8 other people in a crash, and it appears Whitney mostly committed suicide. Big difference with the details.

Prince was a pop culture icon that died prematurely and was considered a major death. Different circumstances, but similar level of fame/celebrity for the deceased.

I can remember staying up late to watch a little of it and ended up getting sucked in watching the whole game because Kobe was putting on a show.

I’m still in shock. I’ve been a lakers fan most of my life (I’ll admit since I had kids I haven’t been able to follow the late night games as much). I remember I used to buy the NBA season pass in college to watch the games. At the time I used to have to go to the local Charter Cable office and pay in cash four times a season.

This just so surreal for all the wrong reasons.
