As an auburn fan, it definitely feels like it was a decade ago.

Hail Mary to beat UGA two weeks prior in person

A case can be made that play was crazier than the kick 6. Also Vernes call was incredible.

The band reaction is an awesome video

Can't find it now, but the writeup on Sports By Brooks or some similar site on the band reaction, marveling at their "emotion combined with cold professionalism" was epic. Those drum majors were on point that night.

One of Stanford's student newspaper writers did a fantastic column on their crowd's reaction to the play, as they were watching the game on the jumbotron at their stadium while waiting on their own game to start. EDIT: Here's the Stanford Daily article, one of the most read articles in the history of their newspaper. Winston Shi and the Big Bang of College Football

Perhaps the best writeup was a Wisconsin alum who was on a college football big game bucket list tour, and had picked that game. He said he was so emotionally drained after the game that they didn't even have the energy to go to Toomer's, despite it being one of their bucket list events to attend. He posted detailed writeups of every bucket list game they went to on the Wiscy Scout board.

I was there! What a night! Saw Anthony Jennings lead LSU to a comeback victory against Arkansas on Friday, sped over to the Baton Rouge bus station on government immediately after the game. Took a bus to montgomery overnight. Had my high school friend at Auburn pick me up at like 3 am. Crashed in her spare room for a few hours. Caught gameday in auburn that morning, tailgated. Caught the game, stormed the field, then partied all night until I had to make the whole trip in reverse.

The fact that you survived a Greyhound Bus ride out of BR and into Montgomery and back is pretty a cool story.

Thing I love the most is that regulation had actually ended, but Saban wanted a review because he thought there should have been a second left on the clock when the Bama player when out of bounds on the previous play. They got one second put back on the clock, and the rest is history.

Didn’t matter. If it went to OT we weren’t winning that game. I’ve never seen a coach struggle in a stadium like Saban does at Auburn. He struggled there when he was at LSU as well. His record there as a coach is like 4-7 and Saban had the favored team in 8 of those games.

Watched a woman get robbed a block away from inside the montgomery greyhound with like 40 other people. Did it when I was 19. I did not know better.

I decided to roam around Dick's Sporting Goods and watch the game on the giant 20' screen they had. Was right in front of the screen and thought, oh this game is going to OT. Picked up a pair of shoes to look at, casually looked up and saw Davis catch the kick and thought...uh oh, and couldn't believe what I saw. Everyone in the store that saw it was in mild disbelief.

Also i think the announcer who called the pick six is deceased .

“They’re not gonna keep ‘em off the field tonight” is such a perfect line. The jubilation in his voice…

What an incredibly written article. I had forgotten about this.
Sports writing and journalism in general has fallen off the steepest cliff it could have in the decade since. And this was a college kid.
Incredible article

Football is by far the best fan sport and it isn't close. No sport elicits the fan reaction like football.

Same year they beat Georgia on a Hail Mary to end the game. That was a wild season for Auburn fans
