Alabama beats UGA
Texas won
FSU wins
Washington won
Michigan wins

You get into a situation that SEC can legit be left out

Unbeaten conference champs in (apparently championship matters again, since Hocutt is not around)

So you’d have
Michigan 1
Washington 2
FSU 3
Texas 4
Bama 5
UGA 6

Based off committee precedent you have basically a pool play where all played

Texas beat Bama who beat UGA. Apparently head to head means almost everything. Texas won a true road game and Bama won a de facto road game. Both were against top 2 team at time

This is why I’m glad this invitational is over after this year. Yet the new format isn’t much better as they’re leaving out champions still. But that’s another discussion for another day.

Also the rankings should only be shown at end not weekly, but Disney needs advertising dollars and time fillers.

Is it 12 next year or 4 teams?

I believe 12 next year. But it should be 24, but then the Champ weekend will disappear possibly.

But this system now is an invitational and not really true way of determining a “champion”

And the winner would know they didn't beat the best to win it. The 2 best teams would be sitting at home. Wasn't the o jet to have the best 4 teams? Bama and UgA at home means they left out 2 of the top 4 teams and yet want to call it a championship. True champion is being decided today

Alabama beat Auburn on pure fricking luck. They don't belong near the playoffs.

That's just, just dumb.

Why would FSU even play their games then?

It doesn’t matter if his knee hit or not. His forward progress was clearly stopped

Hilarious after the precedent they set with TCU in 2014.

You act like UT didn’t walk into Tuscaloosa and bloody up the SEC champ.

Why do Texas and Alabama jump Ohio State?

Why aren’t they already ahead of Ohio State if that’s the case.

Texas legit went to Tuscaloosa and won by double digits. What are you talking about?

They put tOSU in instead and didn’t have to use head to head for Baylor/TCU. In this case it would be head to head for the 3 teams going in as both would also be conference champions with the same record. this is very different.

Why not more? Let’s just play 6 regular season games and start the playoff in October.

If this happens, I agree with your top four.

1 - Michigan
2 - Washington
3 - FSU
4 - Texas

Michigan and Washington are in their spots for obvious reasons.

FSU at 3 as an undefeated conference champion.

Texas at 4 as a 1 loss conference champion with the impressive head to head win over the 1 loss SEC champion.
