You can tell the driver isn't Black or Hispanic because his mugshot isn't plastered everywhere and this forum isn't dissecting their lives.

I’d take this trade off in the law:
Zero dui checkpoints or pulling people over for “suspicion” of driving drunk
However
You get in a wreck and you are drunk, minimum 1 year prison time.
Kill someone’s driving drunk, minimum 10 year prison time
Make it not about collecting fines like it currently is but actually at preventing tragedies

Vehicular homicide gets you a minimum of 5 years in NJ and up to 10.

What a piece of shite you are . This is the death of someone that many of us greatly admire, a man of rare skill and high character. And his brother. Two brothers in town to celebrate their sister’s wedding. How pathetic do you have to be to come in here looking to score racial grievance points about a horrible tragedy that has absolutely no racial component. Truly vile and needy AF

Some pieces of horrible news you are able to shrug off and sort of move to the back of your mind — but this has really bothered me today. The whole scenario is so completely devastating and tragic. Two brothers killed the same weekend as their sister’s wedding by a dumbass fricking drunk… the perp deserves to be taken out back and shot tbh. That won’t happen but he should get life without parole for this. You have to be an absolutely negligent moron to try and pass on the right in this scenario. To kill two people while making that move deserves nothing but the harshest justice that can be doled out. Makes my blood boil man. And the fact that Gaudreau has two kids so young..really there are not words for this. Unspeakable loss for their family and a terrible loss for hockey. He was a good player. RIP.

Most of my coworkers live in Columbus and this sums up how they all feel today. It’s just one of those things that’s never supposed to happen and we can’t make sense of it.

The more details that come out, the more pissed off this makes me. The SUV gives the bicycles on the shoulder a wide berth while passing them.
The drunk driver behind the SUV thought the SUV was being an a-hole by drifting wide left to keep the drunk from passing him.
So, the drunk gunned it to pass the SUV on the right shoulder.

My earliest memory of seeing Johnny play was college hockey. I believe this was his sophomore year, I'm a fan of another team in-conference. During the pregame shootaround he gave his stick to a little kid by the boards who had a jersey on for the home team. I didn't think it was a big deal at the time but it seemed to be the love he had for the sport that stood out. Back then just a college kid playing a game, and exceptionally well.
