Milroe justifiably gets a lot of flack for that game, and he did not play particularly well. But imo Alabama’s center McClaughlin cost them that game in a way. He had numerous bad snaps, including a drive-killing snap either over Milroe’s head or low at his feet that resulted in a 15-20 yard loss that killed a possible scoring drive. This was Alabama’s first drive of 2nd half iirc, and they had the ball just in plus territory, and the offense was moving well. If that horrible snap doesn’t happen and they go down and score there, they probably win the game. A lot of things went wrong for them to blow it.

Columbia seems pretty terrible even by Ivy League standards. They will be lucky to score. I guess Harvard has a decent team in the FCS

On a note germane to the conversation here, they do grant car notes to basically anyone now. It’s really not that far out of the galaxy to think that a Wendy’s employee could purchase a mid grade vehicle, or perhaps even a somewhat expensive one - especially if it is a full time employee. It’s probably like the housing bubble in ‘08 but much smaller in scale and less significant, so it won’t wreck the world economy if/when defaults sky rocket, and asset values crater.

Regardless of how Saban retained players, he developed them as well as anybody. People act like other teams didn’t also have a high proportion of blue chips — a lot of the top teams did. Saban just had a system where he got the most out his guys.

Hate to see Deatrich Wise go down like that, especially on a damn PAT. That sucks — very unlucky injury for him/the team. He’s a good player.

That Alcaraz return at 6-4 Fritz in the tiebreak was pretty unreal and kept him in the point. That was a good 1st serve from Fritz and Carlos put it back in play.

Then that last backhand from Carlos on/near the line. Fritz did not play bad at all but certain players, and Alcaraz is in that camp, they just have a level that is very hard to match.

Not a great showing from Coco. In best of 3, there’s just not a lot of time to find your game. And this Ukrainian chick was really smashing the ball, she played a hell of a match.

It’s a shame, Coco’s outfit was very nice and deserving of a deeper run in the tourney lol.
