Nantz: “And here come the Patriots and TOM BRADY!!!!!!”

I really like Nantz, but I lost a little respect for him that day. He almost creamed himself.

I did at the idea of Nantz pushing CBS to sit Romo while he was doing the masters. A very clear effort to keep Ian Eagle and Romo from auditioning together for life after Nantz.

Tony “hope it’s just a cramp” Romo has the worst voice in sports broadcasting. The timbre is way off. Sounds like he’s hoarse and full of mucus at the same time.

Nantz is the best in the business. He doesn't do college basketball all season until March Madness, and then when the tournament starts, he sounds as informed as anyone. He's always extraordinarily well prepared and it shows.

Nantz is THE voice of The Masters and CBS golf for many. He's really good in the NCAAT (though I can appreciate the fun a guy like Kevin Harlan brings). But IMO, he is kind of "meh" in the NFL. Romo has been great as an analyst. He's quick witted and funny, but also does an awesome job of giving the fans and inside look intricacies and details of the play. We all, as fans, can see the general aspects of the play. Romo shows us the stuff we don't see because we don't know.

Natz should be paid up there with the lead guys at the other networks. But Romo's salary is a result of timing. MNF wanted him and CBS knew what they had...so they paid him accordingly

Romo was making more than Nantz?

What a charmed life for that Cowboy.

Nantz is a professional, does everything.

Never understood why Networks fawn over former players, most of whom suck and can't comment on anything but one sport.

BTW, does Tirico call anything regularly besides ND football when they're on NBC? I know he's on the SNF studio show but are there any other regular calls he's assigned to?

Nah that’s it besides the Olympics and Triple Crown until Michaels hangs it up

I’m more so commenting on what we as a society place a premium on. I understand why he personally wants his market value.

It’s more of a dig at the market, not Nantz. Didn’t realize that wasn’t clear enough

Tell him to go pound sand with his “friends” and elevate Kevin Harlan to the big seat.

I mean you are directly attacking Nantz in your post, I don’t know if you could have made it any less clear that you were taking about the market from this

Imagine thinking you’re worth that much commentating a football game “Ugh! I don’t want 8 million a year. I want 11!!!!”

Yeah, I know he's been around a lot longer but Nantz is to the NFL what Fowler is to CFB. He's a competent #1 play by play guy but far from a great like Al Michaels or Keith Jackson. I'm fairly old and it's not recentism for me to say that Romo is the best football color guy of all time.

“You” would be you, yourself.

I’d have a difficult time keeping a straight face telling people I’m worth that much as a sports commentator.

Nantz does more than football. He's their voice for the PGA tour and does college basketball.

You, like anyone else in a capitalist society, are worth whatever the market says you're worth. As it should be.

It wouldn’t be that hard to tell people that when your sit 2 feet from a guy who makes almost twice that and has 1/30th of the experience you do

And again your post is attacking Nantz or someone hypothetically in Nantz s position, you aren’t questioning the market at all
