Not really. The market simply got reset quickly within the last 5-10 years and Nantz hasn’t been in a position to truly take advantage yet.
Gruden turned that job into something that you pay top dollar for. He left and there was a void and ESPN has been offering the fattest checks possible to try to fill that void and it’s led to everyone’s pay getting inflated as a result
I mentioned this earlier but the game changes when you have a guy like Gruden who they love and wanted to keep, but at the time they weren’t worried about CBS, NBC, or Fox taking him away, they were competing with the Tennessee Volunteers and NFL teams every year that are offering atleast 6-7 mil a year. So they threw 10 mil at him to try to make it insane for him to leave until ultimately an NFL team matched that offer and he was ready to go back

Broadcasting football games makes CBS millions and millions of dollars, so it makes sense that the face of the NFL on CBS would require a big salary and periodic raises. Couple Nantz being the face of the NFL on CBS with his other works like being the face of CBS’s coverage of the Master’s and the NCAA Tournament, and it really starts to make sense why he deserves a lot of money.

Nantz was disgustingly woke during the US Open this year. I swear if Cameron Champ had won, Nantz would have taken a money shot on the 18th green.

I would hope they would put their top team at the top game which is GB vs. Indy... but all they care about is ratings so Buck and Troy will be in Minny and more than 3/4ths of the country will be forced to watch Dallas vs. Minn. Dallas has a huge fan base. They also have a non fan base that will watch just to see them lose.
