Spat is a fantastic coach don’t get me wrong, but his personality would not work at WM in my opinion.

Could not agree more. Spat needs to stay in Farmerville. West Monroe is an entirely different animal.

Mccarty is not going to get back into coaching. He is enjoying life after football. Garvin will be a candidate but there are still some bad feelings with people on both sides. Will be an interesting search.

Garvin should have been the head coach in waiting after Arledge. That bridge is probably burned though and Ouachita is his alma mater right?

I hear ya there. He can have a temper on him

Mucho love, respect and honor for Coach Arledge.
What Don Shows, Jerry Arledge and Casey Sanders along with other great assistant coaches accomplished at WM is amazing.
West Monroe High School football was barely on the radar for years before them.
State football championships in 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2005, 2009, 2011.
Numerous state runners-up.
Tons of playoff victories, well over 25 straight district championships.
Many young men received college scholarships. Hundreds of young men who were given valuable life lessons.
I doubt Louisiana will ever see another run in football like West Monroe had.
God bless Coach Arledge.

Agreed honestly. Just frustrating that Zachary was the only team that would've beaten us and we were so close to not having to play them at all.

Matt Kubik at ULM - the call should be made now.
He would make WM an offensive force.

There needs to be a national coaching search. West Monroe is too good of a job for 2 family members to take over.

Good Ole Boy Network is rolling in West Monroe. Osborne is your next head coach. They getting this done quickly before principal retires. It’s a shame the administration is stuck in the glory years from 25 years ago.

Arledge was a good DC, his players probably made him look better than he actually was, but he was a shite head coach and person.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens. Everyone is saying TO is a lock. I’ve heard 20 different names with 20 different coaching styles. I’ve always preferred a guy that surrounded himself with great coaches and let them do what they do over a guy that is a dictator and wants to micromanage.
I have no clue how this one will turn out and the philosophy they’ll go with here.

Garvin may be interested even though he went to OPHS and his family has always been big in the booster section. Heard he only has 22 players on the freshman team. OPHS isnt what it used to be when we graduated together in 01'

Genuinely asking. Not sure how much coaches typically get paid at the University of West Monroe High.

I don't think it's the salary
He's next up for either a FBS head gig or P5 OC gig he's not throwing that away for possibly the most politicalized job in the state

I would rather WM go with Garvin rather than the other assumed new HC, TO.
No disrespect to that person but he doesn't seem to be HC material.
Everything I know about TO is that he is a good person.
Both TO and Garvin have been at the WM program for years now, so both are familiar with what WM can and should be able to do in football.
The foundation at WM is sound and can be made strong again.
Supposedly there is some friction between Garvin and Arledge. I have NO idea if that is true or not.
I have NO IDEA who the new HC will be at WM.
Will the new WM HC be able to engineer a Kim Mulkey like turnaround?
That remains to be seen.
Whoever it is, the expectations will be high.

Jeremy many, strength and conditioning coach has thrown his hat in the ring. Him and arledge had lunch today in Chatham. 30 miles south of west Monroe.
My first call would be Bobby Breen.

One of my favorite people. Just a good dude. Good leader, Godly man, raising 3 boys, and has won rings at and for WM as a player, powerlifter, and coach. I know he'd bust his butt day in and day out for the program. Definitely someone that would surround himself with great coaches and allow them to coach. West Ridge was a joke before he arrived and he was pivotal in turning it around.
