Big blow to Texas. But honestly not surprised.

Such is the life of being a Texas Rangers fan. Why should I be surprised?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen “forearm tightness” not result in TJ.

What top free agent pitchers are out there next year for Texas to throw absurd money at?

Texas didn't even need him this season

He should retire, honestly. He won't because Texas guaranteed him $185M but his arm is going to probably give him problems for the rest of his life at this point given how often he is injured.

This dude needs to go the way of late-career Smoltz. Explosive stuff. Just one inning max.

They win the World Series in June?

They seem to be doing just fine without him.
Obviously a major loss in starting depth and one of MLBs best pitchers is gonna sting over the course of the season.

Eovaldi is pitching like a Cy Young.
Jon Gray is pitching like the #3 overall pick he was.
Perez is having a good year. Dunning is having a good year. Heaney is coming into his own.
The staff is actually not missing a beat.

This is all true, and as a Rangers fan I hope it continues, but it's only June. Is this sustainable?
I do know one thing. Our offense absolutely rakes!

Eovaldi has had two TJs himself and doesn’t exactly have a sterling record of durability in a long career. This is unfortunately the normal rate of attrition for a pitching staff over the course of a year now

Truth. I hope he can stay healthy, he’s been a true #1 this year.

They are, and Honest Tune’s assessment of their starters is pretty spot on.

Astros lose Verlander in FA, McCullers hasn’t pitched this year, Garcia out for the season, and who knows when Urquidy comes back.

We as LSU fans can see that the Minnesota Twins were doing just fine as a staff before, during, and after Wes Johnson was their pitching coach.

Not surprised at all . A shame.
