Why? The issue last time was he was traveling on NBA business. Not the issue here.
Dumb? Definitely. Against NBA rules? No.

Conduct detrimental to the team. It's been done countless times, it was done to Morant for the literal same thing.
He'll get suspended, he'll miss games. There's nothing he can do to avoid that.

ChatGPT says that in Texas and Florida employers are prohibited from taking adverse employment actions against employees who lawfully possess firearms outside of work so maybe Kyrie for Ja would work.

Because there was thought that he had actually broken a rule/law then. Maybe he brought the gun on the plane and he took it out in the strip club.

Pattern of what, that he has a gun. That's not necessarily illegal. If he's not pulling it on someone then it's not any more dangerous than all the politicians in America that make campaign ads centered around them flashing their guns.
You're trying so hard with this comparison, it's kind of pathetic. Dude was in a car full of people with a loaded firearm playing around with it like an idiot. Please, please show me any sort of campaign video of a candidate doing that. I don't give a frick that he's black, I would be pissed if the whitest guy on the planet handled his firearm like a complete moron.

It’s likely part of the agreement made with the NBA to go lightly on him that he’d not be seen with a gun again
His arse is grass

Most here approve the ability to legally own a gun.
Most, if not all, disapprove playing with a gun like a toy and being an irresponsible gun owner.
Big difference.

I don't know when it happened but sometime in the last few years it feels like a lot of people have decided that basic gun safety is bullshite.

Agreed. Hell just go to any gun range on the weekend, guarantee you'll see the range officer chewing someone out for being dumb. I get very frustrated with irresponsible gun owners because they make all of us look bad.

To be fair, it looks like they are poising with a firearm in a safer position than Ja is (could be wrong based on angles). Also a far more controlled environment than a moving vehicle.

Ja is a fricking idiot and none of this is surprising, but the NBA is so hypocritical with how they promote the rap culture then will turn around and suspend players for the same shite. I literally just saw on Twitter an NBA paid promotion of Quavo doing some skit. Adam Silver is a huge pussy that lets the players run the league and needs to drop his nuts like David Stern did.
