Facebook reels Link. I'm looking for a non-FB link.

Summary: this is a clip titled "I knew @nicole.roggow could hoop but I wasn’t expecting this…" with the narration: "I let my wife play in my men's league and this is what happened"

The "men's" league she is playing in seems to only have guys 5-10 or shorter with some pushing 300 lbs

She's also a former D1 basketball player and fitness athlete or model or influencer or something.

Tik Tok link

And if you think that if the MSB would look just as bad playing pickup basketball, we actually used to have a weekly game and I don't know if she could get many clean shots off. I am shocked at just how terrible the guys are in this league.

Does anyone really believe women are as good as men at basketball? I mean anyone who actually knows anything about sports.

#9 looked just like Harden.

On defense.

She's not bad. Like I said she played D1 apparently.

It just her level of competition...

Dude have you ever had the pressure of trying to make an "open" shot when an unathletic, 5-6, 275 guy is closing out on you...15 feet away?

Why are you so worked up about this? Dude simply bragging on his wife. I don’t think this is some huge gender statement.

I'm not?

This is meant for comedy.

Did I post this on the poli board?

Do you think my thread is an actual "gender statement"?

I don’t think it’s about knowing. It’s pretty obvious from nonsports fan. Pretty obvious for a child. We live in an age where we have to pretend to be dumb when it comes to men/women abilities and say “yeah, she’s as good or better than men” if a woman is a competent player. Why? Because we as people loves fantasy over reality. Because reality is full of cold hard facts and it hurts to accept. And that doesn’t sell tickets. Fantasy sells.

I would expect a woman who is essentially an expert at playing basketball considering her history, to beat a bunch of Dads who probably maxed at low level high school play.

The same would be true for Swimming, Bowling, Golf, Rock Climbing, etc.

I saw that... I didn't get any pretense that women are just as good as men. Just that one specific woman is a decent player. And she is... but yeah against rec league guys that probably weren't giving max effort.

SO he showed the 10% where it looked good. My old roommate was on the "scout" team that played against LSU WBB back when Fowles and Augustus were there. The guys could compete and I will leave it at that

Lol. Nothing like promoting women’s equality by “letting” your wife play with the boys. With your permission, of course.

The best men will always be better than the best women at basketball. This will be the same for literally every sport(except maybe bowling, billiards, and other non-athletic sports?? Idk)

This statement does not mean that literally every man on the planet is better than literally every woman on the planet in basketball.

I've told this story before, in college, I had a friend of mine. She played basketball all throughout high school, and could have played in college, but she chose not to. Myself on the other hand, a football athlete, with absolutely horrible basketball skill(I was cut from the team every year in middle school and high school).

In games to 15, she beat me 2 out of 3 times. Since I lost the bet, I had to buy her food later and give her a foot massage. My pride was originally hurt. But I quickly got over it later that night.

This seems like a slight overreaction. He posted a video calling his wife a bucket. I don’t see the big deal.
