He’s a better player than John Lynch and Lynch is in. So yes, he’s a hall of famer.

Yeah getting on the Hall of Fame all decade team gets you a foot in the door. Of the 2000's team the entire 1st team is in except Brady and Lo Neal. Most of the 2nd team is in and among the left out are guys with no chance like the 2nd team fullback and Darren Sharper.

College HOF - Yes.

Louisiana HOF - Definitely.

LSU HOF - Too many goofy academic and graduation requirements. If Pistol Pete is not in there I consider it a bogus HOF.

NFL HOF? - I would like to see it but I am not holding my breath.

It's probably more challenging to get into CFHOF because there is such a
log jam.

Guys like Reggie Bush and Tim Tebow just got in for 2023.

Randy Moss just got in for 2024.

If you look at All Decade Teams from 70s , 80s 90s and 2000s, everyone is 100% in with the exception of kickers punters and fullbacks.

Damn.

Maybe he is, then.

Yeah I get it. Just talking about his performances in college that make him an instant lock whenever they choose to put him in. He just didn’t have the same impact in the pros.

I'll be honest . I did not expect his numbers to be so close to Troy's.

Oh, he wasn’t the most impactful defensive back and maybe defensive player of all time?

No shite

Three things will help:
All Decade Team selections almost always get in
A Super Bowl Ring
An all time great nickname (don't discount this)

I think it's 70-30 he gets in but it will take at least five years.

Compared to other modern HOF safeties. The All Pro selections hold weight, and he is right there with the best.

Dawkin and especially Ed Reed stats are the only ones that you can put up next Mathieu that make him look like a non-HOF candidate

Ed reeds are just insane

average .36 INT per game

He’s in my HoF. Haven’t been many football players more enjoyable to watch than he was.

Didn’t he have injury issues early in his pro career? His numbers are better than I would have figured.

Crazy that he was All-Pro more times than a Pro-Bowler. He biggest crime was playing the first several years of his career in Arizona while they were struggling then wrapping his career in New Orleans while they were struggling.

In my opinion he had a "quiet" HOF career. May take a bunch of years for him to get in because of things out of his control. End of the day, the guy was a beast. Had he played in Pittsburgh, he'd have been a first ballot guy.

Yeah tore his ACL on a punt return his rookie season. Tore his other ACL on an INT in 2015 when he, at the time, was one of the favorites to win NFL DPOY. Both happened at the end of the season. he also missed some time in 2016 with a shoulder injury. However, in total, he only missed 14 games his entire career and missed zero the last 8 years of his career outside of a healthy scratch in game 16 of the 2020 season when KC was sitting their starters
