Compare a QB in the regular season to postseason and see if they improve, stay the same, or play worse

why did you ignore literally every other Stat in that post. C'mon man
Now do conference championships...

These dudes play 100s of games, if you think it's a good breakdown to say one is the most clutch because of ONLY 4 games of his career, that's pretty silly.

Why didn't you just skip to the end and save yourself all that typing?

Exactly

Drew Brees playoff offenses score more points, gain more yards, and turn the ball over less than Tom Brady playoff offenses. Now their defenses are vastly different with Brees very bad and Brady defenses very good.

So Brady is more clutch in the playoffs...why exactly?

My issue is that people seem to give him all the credit for the team's success, even when he doesn't play that well. The guy walked into the best situation a QB could possibly imagine. Best coach, great skill players, great OL, great defense.

Andy didn’t become the best coach until Mahomes. He was known as a choker, who refused to run the ball with bad clock management skills. Andy was 1-3 in the postseason with Alex Smith. 15-3 since Mahomes took over. Chiefs defense was bad when Mahomes took over. Like 26th in the league bad.

Your issue seems to be you don’t really know anything about the NFL.

You might not like what you are about to see then :

2/3 QBs raise their games in the playoffs as players….

Playoff Mahomes is an actual freak of nature

I think it's a little of both. Andy learned from his mistakes in Philly (IMO), and when presented with a new opportunity did better.

As a long-term Chief's fan and sufferer, when Andy was hired and brought in Alex Smith it was like turning on a light in a dark basement. He may not have been successful in the post-season, but it was night and day different from the previous clown circuses.

And when Mahomes came in I think Andy realized that he had to change - and that Mahomes was the chance to make that change.

I believe they call that "serendipity".

Heck, if a stubborn old coot like Saban could adapt his offensive mindset to the new hotness, why not Andy?

Mahomes and Allen are clearly in a tier of their own atop the NFL

As a biased Chieftain, he was born to play QB1 and it’s the intangibles that make him a HOF, not the arm strength.

I openly admit when they were trading up in the draft I was like WTF? not another Tech qb that threw for 25,000+ in his college career and can’t even take a snap under center.

I was completely wrong!!!

The guy is the ultimate competitor and winner, and that has rubbed off on the entire organization.

I’ll take Joe Montana over Pat….when pat gets to the number
Of SB wins I’ll consider him.

He's up there, but Brady is the most clutch. And Favre and Elway are right behind him.

This morning listening to sports talk show in Denver area they shared an interesting stat about Mahomes.

Since he has been in the league, he has had the most interceptions reversed due to a penalty. It was something like 17.

I don't know more than that or what the number was for the next quarterback on the list, but if it dropped to something like 5 interceptions reversed, then there might be something to this referee favoritism for Mahomes.

I don’t think Brady is because of the performances against the Giants both times.

Mahomes is notorious for airing one out and forcing it when sees a flag has been thrown......or when he sees an opportunity for a flag downfield.

He knows many times when it's a "free play".

there's always a context to stats. When people hear something like this, they start making assumptions. In this particular case, 8 of them were offsides. Which means he was taking a shot for the free play.
Btw, he and Burrow have the same %int thrown reversed by penalty per pass play
