Thats pretty accurate
well that math is .. strained

I understand it's kind of like a spectrum, Everybody's a little bit gay kind of math justification

but again, no judgment, merely an observation

95% of New Orleans is saints fans, 75% is Tigers fans. How is the math “strained”?

Not true at all. Acadiana loves the Saints / Nola.

I shite on the city like most people here, but....

Like Uncle Eddie said, Louisiana without New Orleans would be Mississippi.

Nola is very close to BR in terms of everything. It isn’t in the same galaxy as Houston or Dallas etc

Correct. Those metro areas are all bigger than the state of LA. No one cares about NOLA

This is true, and it also shows the absolute lack of self awareness about the city from its residents

So residents of New Orleans should think about Baton Rouge more? I don’t understand this.

8/10 Americans outside of the neighboring states couldn’t name another Louisiana “city.”

It’s just as much of an LSU town as anywhere in Louisiana

If you're a fricking idiot. 95% of New Orleanians are Saints fans. 75% are LSU fans. It's not an either/or choice.

I’ve been a saints fan my whole life but that doesn’t mean I have to like the shite hole of New Orleans. The city and its leadership is an embarrassment

You are more likely to find ardent lsu support in NO than you are Saints in BR.

Pretty spot on

My opinion is that there is no football passion quite like Louisiana football passion. The % of people who are die hards is very high

January 2004 tells a different story. LSU had a lot of fans in New Orleans. Or it was either a state pride thing where many showed up for supporting of Louisiana football and not just LSU fans. I’m not complaining either. My team lost but I had a lot of fun and great food.

Over the last 30 years NOLA has grown more LSU as LSU has been on the tube more and more over that time. Priox to the early or mid 90s, you might see LSU on TV a few times on ESPN and maybe once on the SEc game of the week on the ancestor to Jefferson Pilot.....and before ESPN you might get them on regional coverage on ABC 3x a year. Whereas you were seeing the Saints on the tube a minimum of 10x a year since the late 70s including preseason.

Always been a lot of LSU fans, though

It’s an open air toilet because the people that live there and and elected officials allow it to be. It’s not non Nola residents to clean it up. That’s what’s wrong with the city. They take in all this money from tourism and pad their own wallets instead of putting to back in the city.
