re: Is Lane Kiffin's coaching career too crazy to be made into a believable movie?

Yall are crazy. Lane is the definition of a slam dunk.
Lane should be great at LSU, but it wasn’t 4 years ago LSU fans were saying the same about BK and ignoring any of his flaws.

Hey now can we run a professional message board thread please?

The majority and prevailing sentiment was giddiness....understandable, fans want to be excited and bright side everything, its human nature..."look at what Kelly did at Notre Dame with limited recruiting capabilities! Imagine at LSU with no restrictions and more talent!"
LSU got I guess the best that was available or willing to move for the price. It is the current landscape.
He's made Ole Miss relevant but be wary of folks who have no fidelity and casually lie. Its not like Tennessee, Raiders and USC never happened. But people grow.

Plenty of LSU fans wanted Lane back when we hired Kelly. I was one of them and was stunned we didn’t entertain it. But now I know Woodward wasn’t a fan.

Really dont understand the hype over this guy. Never came close to sniffing a title anywhere
It's like Dan Marino; he never won a Super Bowl so later generations dismiss him. He "clearly" wasn't that good a QB... but the people that SAW him acknowledge he was great.
That's Kiffin as a coach.
You don't win titles without players, and he never had a HC job with that type of team.

This is what coaches cost now and Lane has shown to at least be worth the gamble when you factor in no one does what he just did at Ole freaking Miss
Dude HUGH FREEZE did it 10 years earlier at Ole Miss vs peak Nick Saban when you couldn’t legally pay players.
Stop saying it’s impossible to win at Ole Miss.
Dudes getting paid more than Curt Cignetti lol…this is a joke of a hire.
Again, this is no different than USC throwing money at Lincoln Riley, or UF thinking “wow Dan Mullen had success at Miss State, surely he can do more here”.
Both those hires have been losers and Kiffin will be as well except you are paying a premium for it

Freeze was 39-25 (.609) including the victories they vacated
Kiffin was 55-19 (.743)
Try again

Oh lord. Sun God has already pointed out the stats for how ridiculous this is, but I’ll just point out that Lane is second (barely) only to Johnny Vaught at Ole Miss, and Johnny hasn’t coached since before I was born (and I’m an old man).

Joey Freshwater era is legendary at Alabama. I remember the day everyone thought he would get fired because of the rumors he banged sabans daughter.

Dude, Hugh Freeze had Ole Miss ranked in the top 3 in the AP poll in back to back seasons:
October 2014. Ranked #3 for 3 straight weeks.
September 2015. Ranked #3 for 2 weeks.
Let’s see in 5 years what is the highest ranking Kiffin has achieved at Ole Miss?
2025: 4th
2024: 6th
Again, Hugh Freeze took Ole Miss to a higher peak than Kiffin did, in a much tougher SEC environment when the field wasn’t level like it is now with paying players. And guess what. Auburn just fired this guy.

Now it's reported, that the dog lane claimed as his, and pimped as family isn't even his. He borrowed it from a kennel to give him a a family man, type vibes Lol
Why be so phoney? Who gives a frick if you have a dog or not. They even created a Facebook and twitter account for the dog and posted and responded to people's replies. Lol
He might get a 3 part. 30:30. By the time the dust settles

Hugh Freeze actually beat Alabama. While at Ole Miss.
Lane Kiffin: 0-5
