Is it okay to ever switch NFL team allegiances?

First and foremost, let me preface this by saying it's NEVER okay to switch your favorite college team/program. Unfortunately I grew up a South Carolina fan and further cemented by fandom by getting a degree from there.
On the topic of NFL/pro teams in general though - is it ever okay to switch teams?
I've considered myself a Falcons fan for a couple years now, but with the news they are announcing a new uniform/logo in April, I fear they may be going back to a more classic look which is going to be more in line with UGA's colors I think. I know this is an extremely dumb reason to not like a team, but whatever it's fricking pro sports. I've never actually been to a NFL game. I also want to say I've never liked the Panthers. Not sure what I'll do - maybe just have no favorite team.
I end up at the bar on Sundays anyway just watching all games for fantasy players anyway.

Carolina fan not rooting for Panthers is pretty gay.
switching teams due to uniform change is even gayer.
rooting for atlanta is the gayest.

Who does your boyfriend root....for?

I'll ease your worries for you. It doesn't sound like you were ever a Falcons fan if a uniform change will cause you to rethink your allegiance. So, root for whatever team makes you happy.

I only decided to latch on to them because I'm already a Braves fan and didn't like the idea of being a fan of some random team, like how everyone in the south is either a Cowboys or Steelers fan.

so you weren't ever an actual fan in the first place

Never was a Panthers fan either, but not for any particular reason. They were the team always on TV obviously but I just never really cared. Didn't hate them and don't now, but never really rooted for them or cared if they won or lost.
I always watched the NFL but just never really got behind a team. Maybe it's because the Panthers are like team #4 or #5 in the Carolinas overall between SC and Clemson football and Duke and UNC basketball. It just never resonated.
I've only been here for a few years but got hooked on the Skins pretty quick. Why did I latch onto a disaster of a franchise? I don't know. I guess the beat downs on Saturdays weren't enough.
Cocks
Skins
Braves
Maybe I'll win something someday in the next 50 years. Not holding out hope though.

I grew up in NY and was a Giants fan. Moved to LA in 2002 and still rooted for them. After Katrina, I starting cheering for both but have since completely changed to a 100% Saints fan
