Is it becoming clearer that Drew Brees was the “system” instead of Sean Payton?

The year Payton was suspended and Brees threw around 45 TDS without him should have been a hint.

But now that Payton has the GOAT in Russell Wilson, I’m not too impressed.

I think Sean's system is just very outdated, to be honest.

Drew Brees is one of the 5 best quarterbacks to ever live. He would have had more super bowls if Sean could have supplied him with even a semi-competent defense

Edit: Autocorrect changed Brees

the offense hasn't been that bad.. it is the defense that is the worst in the league

Are we sure that it isn’t obvious that Wilson is on the backside of his career in terms of performance?

Taysom Hill is the closest thing we have had compared to Drew. It’s unfortunate we chose Winston, then Dalton, then Carr. Clearly Taysom can carry the load and is the answer. Sean knew this, I bet it’s part of the reason he left.

I think it’s pretty clear that Sean Payton has no idea how to run a defence

Drew Brees is one of the best to ever do it, and Payton was a good coach for him…Payton has been out of the league for a while, so maybe he’s a little out of touch, but I think the more logical conclusion is that the broncos just fricking suck

Didn't the 2012 Saints break a record for the most yards given up in a single season?

I looked it up. They did. 440 yards per game.

Last year Denver was 21st and 32nd in yards and points per game

Now they are 14th and 17th

They are improving pretty quickly offensively. It’s the defense that has been awful

Russell Wilson is a supporting actor not a leading man. This offense calls for a franchise QB in the literal meaning not the updated Dak Prescott meaning of the term.

Wilson has been pretty damn good this year

263 yards/g—2tds/g—0.6 int/game—99.5 rating

Clearly the solution is to bring back Vance Joseph as head coach, with Sergio Dipp as the lead analyst for Denver CBS affiliate.

Honestly I was shocked that Payton would jump into that situation. It was clear to me last year the Broncos would be bottom feeders for at least 3 years with that contract. Probably more.

I guess his ego is really big and that he thought he could fix that situation but I thought he had gone mad taking that job.

Amazing how an all time QB leaving makes a head coach turn to shite...

Just ask New England fans.

Russ isn’t even close to being the problem this year. Vance Joseph is a fricking hack.

Broncos offense has been putrid for like 6 years but the D was always stout. Now Payton gets here and defense sucks dong

NFL killed Payton in the early 2010's.
