I feel like the "pro players in college" issue doesn't need to be so dramatic

Or maybe I'm not fully understanding the issue.
From what I gather, these are players who have been drafted by a pro team, maybe have played some preseason games, but haven't been involved in the regular season at all. But a court has said they have another year of eligibility left and, and since their decision to go pro was based on the fact that they had no years left, they want to take advantage of it and get back to college. I feel it could be pretty cut and dry, as long as they haven't played a regular season game they should be allowed back no problem. It's not like Lamar Jackson wants to run around Louisville one more year. We're not talking about all pros running it back and dominating the poor little college guys.
I know people love to moan about how the college game is being ruined, but I don't feel this has to be that big of an issue, unless it's just the NCAA trying to flex.

It a one time thing. Compared to all the other horrible shite that has happened to the sport, especially after covid, seems pretty small.

I agree and add to that the fact that this is only a one year thing, I don't get why everyone is losing their minds.

People are just mad that Kiffin is a genious and saw this clever loophole in the system. If Saban was still around and done it he would be praised by all, however Saban and his minions are scared of what they see Kiffin is building at LSU and will do harm to his legacy because of how quickly he can suprass him and leave him as dust in the win

Not yet, but I'd bet my mortgage that we see this happen within the next 3-5 years. If the Vikings cut JJ McCarthy, he could go judge shopping until he finds some jackass who would let him go back to Michigan.

yeah, and these are only players that played 4 years and didn't take a redshirt correct?
virginia started two 7th year players, two 6th year players, and a 5th year guy on their O line yesterday. so the people from 2022 would all be equal to the youngest class on that O line.

It is really nothing to be that upset about. The system got screwed up a long time ago. It is already pro sports.

Why is it so hard for people to write a rule that only applies to players from the 2022 class that played 4 years without redshirting, exhausting the old eligibility?
Nobody in the 2023 class will be able to come back after entering the draft because they voluntarily waived their 5th year and any remaining players from 20-22 will have exhausted eligibility.

This won't happen. All that needed to be done was allow the 2022 class the retroactive decision of declaring for the draft or not. Prior to the ruling, they had no choice but to "go pro" as there was no 5th year available to them. Those that didn't make a team or were undrafted most likely would have played another year and not declared for the draft at that time. This whole thing could just say that the rule starts with the 2023 class and be done with it.

Why is Texas not getting shite on? They have a practice squad player on their roster, he just got cut way earlier than Wright and Harris.

I don’t see a big deal at all. We have 25 year olds that have been playing against 18 year olds for years. Because someone signed a small contract it’s a big deal? When you have guys playing for multi million dollars. The big deal happened with the insane rules years ago.
