Take Catholic and Rummel out of this list, dumbass. They didn’t do shite until the split.

Hmmmmmn

Rummel won state in the old 5a, dumbass

Catholic made the dome in 4a when it was highest, and made 6 semi finals losing to west Monroe or evangel in the old 5 a, dumbass. They would have definitely been able to compete with Curtis...

Dumbass

And since being forced to play in the playoffs with rummel and catholic, Curtis has now lost to both of them in the playoffs, fricking dumbass

Rummel also lost to WM in the '09 5A Championship, when Damien Williams was a freshman and was forced into the starting position when Rummel's starting QB got hurt that year...

Defense was solid... They just struggled on O that game...

Wrong, the veer works great if you have challenges with producing superior athletes and in particular big offensive lineman. It's beyond me why Curtis doesn't evolve into a spread option as they have the athletes to do so.

When the staple play in the offense requires the QB to hand the ball off 1-2 yards past the line of scrimmage, you have to be knocking people off the ball consistently. That takes superior personnel.

Remind me how it’s gone for Curtis against Catholic and Rummel since the split.

Curtis hasn't had a "great" offensive line since 2012 and they've done fairly well in the Catholic league even with the crappy lines they've had. They don't have superior personnel right now, they have some outstanding individuals which shine but their O-line is sub par. And they aren't handing off 1-2 yards past the LOS, the handoff is supposed to happen at the LOS.

don't forget the defense they've had which has never really singlehandedly derailed their chances for the Dome in damn near 50 years. You'd think it would have happened a few times in that span simply from just being young in a few spots at a time

Semantics. Outside veer calls for the QB to take his steps into the line of scrimmage, which has him 1-2 yards downfield from where he received the snap at the point of the handoff.

The real question is, how many would they have if they weren’t cheating in recruiting and having kids move into there homes to play on the team? They single handly ruined high school football and led to the split.

I've heard even dirtier rumors about them than that. Though maybe everyone was juicing back in the 90s.

I just went back and watched some of their game vs Evangel in the Hap Gaudi classic and they were so totally outclassed it was incredible.

Also forgot how crazy some of those old Evangel formations were. And Brock Berlin of course had a cannon.

John Curtis really doesn't have the Depth to play at the highest classification. Uhigh and Catholic both played a tougher regular season Schedule with how far the Catholic League has fallen.

The Catholic League dominates in the amount of teams in the Division 1 bracket but hasn't won it since Jesuit's miraculous run in 2015. Hey, I am a Catholic League grad but the league is not its strongest right now.

After Curtis the CL was kind of weak compared to their high standards... Injuries made Rummel fall off and Jesuit was just young. HC and BM are meh and we all know St. Aug is the biggest underacheivers in the state

Catholic was 3rd in their district. They won state in a Bracket completely dominated by Catholic league teams. By that measure, any Catholic League team is a 4th place team in the Baton Rouge/Ascension District.
