And don’t forget, before the split, only one select team ever one a 5A State Championship.

After Evangel was forced to play down their was quite a few years before Rummel won the last one

OH and West Monroe voted for the split... each time

How is John Curtis’ future looking? Isn’t their QB only a sophomore?

They could have won several in the old 4-A when it was the highest classification.

Back in the day when they were AA, they played AAAA teams before district play...and won.

Big difference in beating a couple of teams a year that can match you size and speed wise, and playing teams week in and week out that can match up with you physically.

Curtis wasn't touching Evangel and West Monroe in the late 90s. JT knew this and was scared to move up.

Wrong, the veer works great if you have challenges with producing superior athletes and in particular big offensive lineman. It's beyond me why Curtis doesn't evolve into a spread option as they have the athletes to do so.

Lester when JC was in AA. aaaa was the biggest class

Neville Ruston etc. were dominant

Also 85 ehret walked to a title. But lost to JC in week 1

Playing top upper class teams all year is very different than 2-3 games a year though

So it was 28-28 and Rummel fumbled a snap on their own 30 yard line with about a minute left, but if that doesnt happen they for sure win?
