In the same way the EBCI, who owns a minority stake in many of your beloved Braves, approves of the name and the chop.

End of thread.

The larger Seminole tribe in Oklahoma does not support it. It doesn't matter to me. I can't stand the indian casinos and wish Florida and Texas and a few other states would just legalize gambling and put them out of business. I would laugh if FSU had to change their mascot, but at the same time frick those woke bastards who bitch about everything.

That's the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma to you, whitey.

They are apparently one of the few Native American Tribes/Nations offended by ANY use of NA/Indian symbols and names in sports.

But the NCAA doesn't seem to care what those Seminoles think, because the Florida Tribe supports Florida State.

What happened to Aunt Jemima?

quote:

Harris explains her cousin Lillian is a hero in her family, and they hope to continue sharing her legacy for many generations.

In the video, Harris said she’s had many conversations with her cousins, agreeing recent activism has gone too far, and that Black people need their history—both good and bad—displayed.

ETA: I guess I haven't made pancakes in a long time...or maybe was sticking with Log Cabin. Never knew Aunt was erased by the mob.

So when is Uncle Ben going to be cancelled?

Now that Aunt is gone.

Because white women haven’t gotten around to being offended for the Seminole tribe just yet.

When they first started they obtained the permission of the Seminole tribe to use their name and have them as the mascot. I guess that is what separates them from the other Indians.

That reminds me when they went after Central Michigan to change their name, and their starting QB (and maybe best player they ever had) was a Chippewa

The NCAA went after Utah too, and a Ute chief was a football season ticket holder who shut them down pretty quickly.
