Not my cup of tea either.

I guess I turned it on looking for baseball game and got a bunch of slapstick corny routines.

Then I would rather pay to watch BRCC and Gulf Coast Community College at Goldsby Field truth be told. That sounds rather lame compared to what I thought it'd be. 3 innings of back flips singing and dancing?

If you had some skill guys show up like twice a year or whatever their schedule allows in some kind of special guest capacity to get paid to put on the jersey and have a home run derby or something that'd be what you want to attract actual baseball enthusiasts I almost assumed you'd have that..

Then you can do all the circus stuff for the four year olds in the stands for the rest of the day. I guess they're not worried about their current product from a business standpoint though I've seen videos of their shows they pack the seats.

No tattoos here between my wife and I. 3 young kids who love baseball (especially after going to Omaha this year). They love watching the Bananas, and we were lucky to get lottery tickets at The Box this year.

I’m not sure it’s my cup of tea, but that doesn’t matter if my kids love it, want to/talk about going, and we have a chance to. It’ll be a good time regardless of my baseball purist preference - if the kids have fun, that’s all that matters.

The guys you want to see are playing actual baseball on actual teams

It really is terrible.

When people ask how our country is becoming so soft and ghey, you can point to something like this. A bunch of grown men acting effeminate and dancing around while the umpire twerks behind home plate.

Dont know where you got 3 innings from, went to the bananas game at the box last year and it was like 6/7 innings.

And ticket prices for this years tailgaters game at the box is $35 each. Not sure if yall consider it cheap or not, just posting the price for reference.

I know a guy who was playing for a bananas developmental team. They have alot of former college players. Peyton chatagnier of ole miss was on his team.

Also wouldnt worry about those who trash them, the majority of those dudes are over the age of 45 and they arent comfortable in their own skin

Y’all are so dramatic.

I haven’t been to a Bananas game because I don’t want to deal with the crazy crowds. But, I can see where people just want to go to a fun event. Especially one that’s family friendly.

Nobody is asking for this to replace MLB or college baseball.

Only on this board is a good, wholesome family entertainment product hated.

This place sometimes. Bunch of miserable bastards....

My kids loved it but it's genuinely one of the most annoying things I have been to in my life. It's like if they somehow made a 12 year old's tik tok scroll into a real life event.

I saw them in Houston, at the box, and a few years ago in Savannah. I'll say that when I saw them before they got big, there were fewer skits and dancing than when I saw them at the box last year. They are meant for kids, especially kids who find regular baseball boring and influencers who want to TikTok.

Baseball isn't great, but it's better than what you find in high school and most colleges. Seriously, the trick plays are impressive. Imagine PCA doing a backflip while catching a routine fly; it would be on Sportscenter every night.

It is funny that the players' contracts require them to be active on social media and create content. Can't play for them if you are not a content creator with some baseball skills. I watched a tryout, and it looked like a typical walk-on tryout. Then, they started asking guys what skills they could bring. Singing, dancing, juggling, etc.

While I like traditional baseball my 6 yo daughter loves it. That’s their marketing and it works. Also it gets kids into baseball.

It’s a show, not sport. You have to watch it like that.

None of this is new. Bill Veeck used to run gimmicks to boost up attendances at the STL Browns and White Sox games.

Banana Ball is meant for families with young kids. There is a cool video on YouTube where their founder talks about it and he seems like a genuinely good guy

Exactly! It's not meant to be real baseball. It's meant to be fun entertainment. Kids love it. It's exactly like the Harlem Globetrotters.

Wow, people complain about there not being enough stuff for families and then there y'all all go complaining about something specifically meant for families.

So does dancing make you effeminate? Last I checked, ladies mostly love guys that can dance!

Facts.

I watch the Bananas tik toks from time to time and would probably go to one game just to go, but don't think I could do more than one game.

But the Globetrotters weren’t gay doing cringey tik tok dances trying to impress horned up middle aged women who “just came for their kids”.
