Clemson fans are mostly like Tanner from Love on the Spectrum.

bingo! not only would they clam up al a invasion of the body snatchers when LSU fans would try to engage them in good natured fannery, they wouldn't even interact with other Clempson fans not in their group

A few pics from our trip

Shotgunning beers in the Clemson "Graveyard"

Our seats looking to the lake in the distance. We were in the rafters so sitting among ND fans.

Esso Club, which is a classic Clemson bar across from the stadium. Tiger Town Tavern is another good one, but that's downtown. Clemson is SMALL, so good luck getting sit-down food on Friday night before the game.

We rented an awesome place that was secluded and had access to an offshoot of the lake, cool spot in the back in the woods. I can try and find the listing if anyone wants to grab it, assuming it's not already rented. Was more of a lodge style place with 4 beds in one big room. Only about 15 minutes to campus.

CNB once pointed out the high amount of gingers-per-capita of the Clemson fanbase and it's absolutely true. Not a shocking amount, but there are way more than you'd see in ordinary life.

It's "Clempson" to us ... get it right please

Gotta love their mascot looking like he's coming off a 2 week meth bender...

Most of the ones who went there are ok.

The ones who didn’t, well, at least they know how to spell one word. C-L-E-M-S-O-N

I’ve noticed the same thing about Michigan. The actual grads are quite to very successful and pretty reasonable. The Walmart Wolverines are looking for meaning in their lives and the worst.

My wife and I went to the Louisville-Clemson game way back in 2014. It was Louisville's first year in the conference and our first ever game against the Tigers.

We had a great time, the Clemson fans were, for the most part, welcoming and had several ask us to join their tailgate , offer food/drinks. The Esso Club was packed, so we ended up eating at Mellow Mushroom and had a few fans come up and welcome us to the conference.

We lost the game of course. Jayron Kearse chased down James Quick late in the fourth quarter and we couldn't punch it in the end zone in the final minute. Memorial Stadium can get rocking and it was deafening during the goal line stand.

It was, hands down, my favorite road trip, and that includes trips to Notre Dame, Penn State and a few others.

I found them odd when we played them and I am an A&M fan. Probably like dealing with our fans if you substituted two dollar bills for homoeroticism.

Not hostile at all. If y’all roll in screaming Tiger Bait or STTDB you probably won’t be offered a beer.

I've been down there for a game, this was a year after Dino Babers upset them in Syracuse. Got a little bit of flak for that but overall they were fine. Pretty mild fan base.

I think Clemson is probably the least social large fanbase in the southeast. Not unwelcoming necessarily and definitely not hostile, but just generally more reserved. Most of the people I know that went to Clemson are very nice people but are more introverted. The differences in the crowd outside the stadium when UGA played Clemson in Charlotte were pretty stark, even with Clemson enjoying a moderate advantage in local numbers.

Obviously there are many exceptions, as with any large group of people.

This isn’t super far off.

I went to Clemson, but, not being from the area, I was surprised at a lot of the folks I met. As you mentioned, extremely nice, basically every one of them, but some legit weirdly quiet folks. It’s got a huge Bible Belt component to it still to this day. It took me a while to find my crew, and once I did, I loved every second of it as the campus and surrounding areas are gorgeous, but a lot of the folks are on the tightly wound side of the quiet conservative spectrum.

I’ve been to many a tailgate where some good natured opposing fans would come by and want to bust balls a bit, and I’ve seen people’s reactions kind of be like wtf guys, and I’m not talking about people being obnoxious dickheads, just folks being fans and having fun.

You can find the right crew and plenty of folks who will have fun with you, but you will get plenty of people who will be sort of rude and quiet. Def some weirdos with light skin in our bunch.
