I think the 1978 Bonnabel team with Tommy Wilcox who I think beat Shaw with John Fourcade has to be up there.

The Evangel team from 99-00 was fricking loaded with studs

Brock Berlin
Brent Rawls
Philip Gieger
Jonathan Wade

among countless other D1 guys

I remember one game they were beating Captain Shreve so bad an 8th grade John David Booty got to play and I think got sacked for a safety for Shreve's only points in the game.

It's true. Lots of athletes with potential just roaming the halls. Unfortunately it's a combination of bad homes and potential athletes who have entitlement issues. Sad, we have a lot of "bad" parents unfortunately. That's likely the big difference and Ruston is one of the smallest 5A schools and cannot afford the nonsense

Ruston 1990. Roymon Malcolm, Brad Laird. Etc. That team was loaded.

Malcolm was an Eric Dickerson clone. Down to the goggles. Kid was a freak.

I saw that team play @ Thibodaux in the playoffs. I really wanted Roymon Malcolm at LSU. Not the best I ever saw but damn good

2000 was when Byrd RB (Nightengale) fumbled out of the back of end zone after breaking a long run against Evangel with nobody near him that would have won the game. That year was Brent Rawls only year at starting QB and Evangel had just lost Berlin, Geiggar, Lee, and a bunch of other seniors that went 60-0 through high school. I've been around that program since the beginning and they were an unstoppable juggernaut in the late 90s. I would put those squads up against anybody ever. They were better than the 01,02 teams. Just more studs all around. As Lester said and pointed out, undefeated against West Monroe in the dome and 6-1 overall IIRC. Only loss was in 01 at Independence Stadium. WM did smoke them in that one 34-13 or something but Evangel beat them that year in the dome. In 02, Evangel slaughtered WM @WM and would have shut them out in the dome if not for TWO high snaps into and out the back of the end zone 35-0.

I remember the Evangel teams from about 99-01 being extremely loaded. My dad had a co-worker who's son moved up there to live with his grandmother to attend school there.

The 02 Redemptorist team was stacked from head to toe. I wish I still had that t shirt with all the scores on it, but they beat a team 81-0.

96 WM championship team was special. Friend from BR with 2 kids at Catholic brought headmaster or whatever they call principal and couple other administrators to my WM house for cocktail and snack before play.off game. They were apologetic for what Major Applewhite and Travis Minor were going to do to the host team. When Minor returned opening kickoff for TD thought they might be right.
Catholic only scored once more in 4th qtr. On their drive back to BR after loss frend called and said Don Shows should be charged with child abuse for making high school running back Tommy Banks carry the ball 36 times in 1 game. True story
