The WNBA has absolutely no idea how to handle these things. Have an arena worker run it and grab it and bag it and leave to dispose of it. Security can deal with the fan. Keep playing.
Stopping play, having a monologue about it and drawing so much attention to it, in a serious way as if a dildo is some dangerous object makes you look like a clown show. It somehow reinforces every negative the league has.
However it’s women, and they can never let something go. Or not make a big deal out of nothing.

To be fair, there were a lot of PGA fans who didn't like Tiger Woods, even early on.
It happens in any sport. When one person gets nearly all of the attention, the other players and many fans get jealous/angry...even if they can't realize that new attention can benefit the league as a whole
