The ball bouncing out of his hands in the endzone.
Once his arse hit the ground in the endzone in control the play was over. Did the bobble start when he hit the ground, or after he hit the ground and the Miami player started ripping again? If it’s the former it’s incomplete, the latter is a touchdown. No review showed it definitively.

I have no dog in the fight but if people truly believe that was a catch they should probably stop watching football

They took forever to call TD on the field. I honestly still don’t know if it was a TD or not. Just no great camera angle on it.

I honestly think they called it a TD so that it could be reviewed.

Looked like 9 had it and lost it after they were down. Lame to overturn whatever the ruling was on the field there.

I wanna know why the ref didn’t rule the VT player out of bounds, which wasted another near 20 seconds

His forward progress was stopped while he was in bounds.

Ball was moving around on the ground quite a bit to argue a catch was made.

Also don't understand all the ACC protecting Miami talk. ACC champ gets an auto bid right? Just protecting them for seeding?
No one is protecting anybody. People just love conspiracy theories for the sake of conspiracy theories. The ref would have just called it incomplete to begin with.

Call on the field is a TD. No way there was 100% indisputable evidence to overturn it per the rules.

10000% rigged to ensure Miami stays in the playoff race.

I agree. But Can Ward showed a lot of poise on that last play. Surely a Heisman moment the way he convinced those officials to overturn the call.

Because he didn't catch the ball. You could see the ball on one of the zoomed in angles when they slowed it down frame by frame. Of course the incompetent broadcast crew and official couldn't spot it so now everyone is up in arms over nothing.

People forget that you have to have full control of the ball until you hand the ball back to the ref.

Not to mention the entire minute he wasted earlier in the drive. And the 3 incomplete passes when they should have been eating clock.

Never let refs decide.

Some of y'all are incredibly invested in this, and it's amusing.
