My 100% honest opinion?

They know the risk of competing in F1 and don't want to. You can throw all the money and knowhow at the sport (looking at you Ferrari) and still end up sucking arse.

So VW goes to LeMans and such and then tries to change the trajectory of F1 with promises of joining.

VW don't want none. But, they will settle for fricking with F1 because the powers that be let them do so.

Formula 1 recently a. Ounces they were going to make a more definitive effort at rebranding and will be seeking to more clearly state it’s intentions going forward for how Formual 1 fits into the car industry as a whole. This comes after Vettel saying that Formula 1 was at severe risk of becoming irrelevant if it didn’t start thinking long term with their regs

Zhou replaces Giovinazzi for Alfa

2022 grid is complete

Too bad for GIO, but that's the name of the game.

For some reason, I assume he is a better driver than he probably is. Didn't realize he has only scored *a* point this season.

Interesting. A lot of people thought Ferrari would keep him in WEC

For this I dont think it was necessarily shite storming. Most ex drivers I’ve seen have been rather critical of this being a no call

I think this is going to really kick off the back and forth.

Newey's visit to the stewards seemed to cross some line in the sand Toto has. Whatever dirt the two teams have on each other may come out.

wouldnt be surprised if GIO makes a return to F1 in '23. He seems like great driver in the opening laps, but the car's shortcomings keeps him out of the top 10. Also avoids contact and crashes, which is undervalued in a sport with such a competitive financial element.

Hope they penalize him so there aren’t excuses when Max wins the WDC

F1 chiefs admit work on Jeddah circuit will go "down to the wire"

quote:

Reports suggest that the facility is still far from finished ahead of its inaugural race on December 5.

F1 race director Michael Masi, who has to formally sign off the track as being fit for use, will pay a visit on Tuesday to assess progress at first hand.

quote:

Domenicali conceded that some elements of the venue that aren't essential to running the race might not be ready on time.

I had a feeling this is their current goal, finish the circuit and the paddock, and host as a barebones race. Teams will start moving gear there in ~14 days in prep for the race.

I'm thinking Mercedes is praying for a grid penalty on Max so they can take another ice next race.

It's going to be a shame when something related to this track being rushed or not being ready influences the driver or constructors race in a major way. Either at the top or in the middle.

One of the problems for an engine manufacturer coming into the series is if they come in at a time when engine specs are frozen they are X number of years behind in development and it is almost impossible to catch up until the next major power plant change.
