It’s a damn shame either way.

That wasn't what I heard live, but your fix is correct. I guess I misheard it amidst all the chaos.

Mclaren [team] made Lando make the call on information he didn't have.
Yep, the team should have had more conviction there. Lando was already telling them to shut up (let him focus on driving), he shouldn't have been the one put on the spot to make that decision. He made an emotional decision and not an informed decision.

I agree, the team should have said heavier rain is coming pit now.

I want and expect my driver to want to stay out there when they have the lead. It's in their DNA. This is one where the team has to make the decision and tell the driver they ARE boxing.

In the end, this is going to make Lando and McLaren better as its a great "teachable" moment.

Can Norris finish 3rd? How far will Ricciardo climb?

For those that've been to the USGP before, any tips? We will be getting into Austin Thursday night and have Friday/Saturday/Sunday tickets. Thinking about skipping Friday all together to just hang around Austin, plus I'm not interested in 21 Pilots. Then probably spend all day at the track on Saturday & Sunday. Good idea/bad idea? Any suggestions?

Bus from downtown is pretty competitive pricewise when all is said and done. Less hassle as well.

If you don't have parking passes prepare to walk. Lots of traffic when you leave, lots.

Colder and hotter than you might think at the track depending on where you are sitting.

Lots of support races to watch, so have a cheatsheet for the times they start.

Still trying to decide if I am making the trip or not. Would likely have to drive back after the race and that kind of sucks.

We're driving in and staying downtown so I bought a parking pass for all 3 days, not leaving until Monday morning to head home.

Horner saying the RBR pit stop had nothing to do with regulation changes.

quote:

"It took a while to get the tire out and then the clutch turned the rear wheel, which took longer to put it back in, so it was frustrating," explained Horner of what happened to Pérez

During the maneuver, one of the mechanics injured one of his hands, but it was not serious, the team informed Motorsport.com . On the other hand, Christian ruled out that the problem was related to the change in pit stops that the FIA ??implemented recently.

"It wasn't because of that technical guideline," he commented. "There was a slight delay in getting off the wheel and the clutch was released when it was in place. So that only aggravated the problem, that's what cost Sergio's day."

Looking like Qatar is probably a go. I hadn't seen the layout before, but it doesn't look all that great.

I wish I knew Dutch. Their coverage is a lot more entertaining than the British/English broadcast. No filters.

Losail is primarily a motorcycle track.

Good to know.

For those going to US GP. Prepare to Walk. A lot.
The track is huge and it's a hike to get from one corner to the next much less the entire track.

Yea, my buddies and I went karting at COTA last month and walked around the grandstand for a bit.

I’m not sure how large I thought the course would be, but it was absolutely gargantuan in real life
