Surely Bottas had car issues. No pace all day

He will bitch about the penalty and Mercedes will bitch about how F1 is targeting them.

Mercedes screwed themselves. They thought they would run away and hide again, but when the cars got mired in traffic, Mercedes downforce setup bit them.

It's too bad there were no Italian's in the stands. Place would have been a madhouse.

And it looks like McLaren and Racing Point each got podiums. Sounds like it was a chaotic race.

Chaotic is an understatement.

It was like an IndyCar race where a random full course yellow throws a monkey wrench into the works and completely reshuffles the order. Couple that with Max and both Ferraris retiring plus Bottas not being able to get into the mix and the race was truly up for grabs -- a real rarity in F1. Definitely one of the most interesting races in the Mercedes....I mean hybrid....era.

I was pulling for Kimi there after the re-start but he went straight backwards. Nevertheless, really happy for Gasly. I want to see him back in a Red Bull seat next year.

Nah, I’m happy for him, but can Kyvat, send Albon down, and bring in someone new to pair with Max.

Why? People are harping on how bad Albon is this year while forgetting gasly was at least equally as bad in the RB last year.

When my second favorite driver beats my favorite driver in the last second of the race:

The issue with red bull is they, like Ferrari, put all their energy into the lead car. The secondary driver gets the shaft

Why?

Because he's driven better than Albon. He handled his demotion way better than Kvyat did a few years ago. I think he's earned another shot.

No argument there. But albon came in the middle of the season last year and, with the same car and support that gasly had constantly finishing behind midpack cars, immediately started finishing in the top 6 where that car belonged. The only time he didn’t was the incident with Hamilton in Brazil, where he was running 2nd near the end of the race.

No idea what’s going on this year, but I don’t see how last year didn’t prove albon to be definitively better than gasly.
