Soooo simple to explain.

Many livlihood$ and agenda depend on the "$$sshhhh" code.

Some orgs rely on Compartmentalization (depts separations of knowledge/info). Non-Di$closure Agreements.

There are other things called "Brotherhoods & Fraternities". "Special" orgs and clubs. Goobs and their agencies. Mainstream Media. Masonic-type orgs. WWE. And so forth.

Enforcement: "Oaths". Threats. Blackmail. $$$$-Blocked. etal etal

It amazes me how triggered you people get over asking questions and not taking everything at face value

I never said it was rigged, but players do think it is

That is one of three Superbowls that have shades of rigging but not rigging by the NFL as an entity at least for 2 of them.

Everyone that argues SB 37 was rigged points to Callahan trying to lose likely because he wanted to be fired. He had to go ham the next year to get Davis to fire him and took the much higher paying job at Nebraska just a couple of days later with a 5 or 6 year contract. He changed their game plan on Friday and kept Gruden's audible calls making it easy for TB to steal their plays calls. It didn't help the Raiders center went missing and getting drunk in Mexico on SB weekend.

SB 3 was another one players pointed to. That was likely based on Rosenbloom wanting to lose (huge gambler) and somehow roping Ed Morrall into his scheme.

SB 40 is really the one that is closest to a potential top down rigging if someone could make a connection between the refs and the brass. Pittsburgh and especially Bettis got built up huge in the media and in Detroit. The were 4 questionable calls by the refs. A push of OPI in the endzone and a Big Ben dive for the goal line both went against the Seahawks. Honestly, both of those were 50/50 calls and the OPI was real but tiky tack for the era. The big ones were an offensive holding that didn't exist that prevented another Seattle TD and a block below the waist by Hasselbeck after he threw a touchdown and was tackling the ball carrier that intercepted his pass. BTW HOF tackle Walter Jones said probably 75% us lost that game and the rest we got robbed. They did squander a lot of opportunities.

Rigged isn’t the right word. It’s not scripted like the WWE. Do I think there have probably been a few refs over the years that have been bought off, yes that’s very likely.

I think the NFL tries to influence games smartly, generally not by blatantly telling officials what to do, but by assigning refs that have certain tendencies to certain matchups to gently push it one way, probably not always successful though.

I also think that some refs feel a social pressure or cultural pressure to make certain calls.

It would take the 7 people paid to call interference to travel back in time and call it on the Rams DB who committed against the Saints.

That said, KC wins...no way the NFL disappoints its new Swifty fans!!!

It is pretty simple, really. Fix the officiating. Period. Bring some integrity to the sport and hold the officials accountable. Have officials explain their bad calls the same way coaches and players have to answer to their screw ups.

When you have the "former ref" guy coming on TV 20 plus times a weekend having to explain bad call after bad call, you have a problem.

Reality is that money drives everything, so I doubt any of this will ever happen.

There was only one official paid to call it. Every official isn’t watching the ball.

When San Fran wins they'll say "tHaT wAs tHe pLaN aLl aLoNg."

The thing about conspiracy nuts, they always move the goalposts and never take responsibility for being wrong.

Are game rigged? No. Are they shaped by the referees? Absolutely.

They choose where and when to call penalties and where not to. And some are suspect as hell.

And then next year Taylor Swift will be the halftime show and they’ll make sure that the Chiefs are in the Super Bowl and that they win it.

A better question would be Why does a loud internet minority believe that the NFL has to convince the majority of America that it isn’t a rigged sport?

The answer would likely have something to do with Donald Trump.

If the NFL were rigged, the Cowboys and the Chicago and New York teams wouldn’t have sucked pond water for a generation, now.

The loudest people are more often than not, the most ignorant.

That applies here.

Hell, football can’t even be made to look right in the movies. It sure as shite can’t be choreographed and scripted in real life.

Outright rigged, no. Preferred outcome and calls made to steer that outcome yes.

Change my mind? I want a legit explanation for the Saints - Rams NFC championship game.

It was a blatant missed call. Doesn't mean that it was rigged.
