For the Love of God, I hope another Network Outbids ESPN for MNF

Christ they have fallen with their announcers. Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Louis Riddick, are fricking terrible…
I wound up switching to Eli and Peyton it was so bad…

It was legit awful. Reminded me of watching a sun belt game on ESPN 7 and not a primetime nationally televised matchup

Sean Mcvay was fine.

For some reason, people get upset that it's not some wild and entertaining production. They tried all the gimmicks like Dennis Miller, Kornheiser, and Gruden. We'd all love Tirico, but he's elsewhere. I think this crew is fine, but Griese does talk too much at times. Sean McDonough is a pro at PBP, but they already had him for a while. Who else on ABC/ESPN would you use?

Their is thousands of people to try. It’s like the NFL coaching searches and hiring retreads, just give someone new a shot. Do a national search of local sportscaster, local talk show host, from around the country and find someone new. You can’t make me believe their isn’t someone out there who wouldn’t do a much better job, ESPN is just lazy.

But that's what made Monday night football special for me. It wasnt the regular boring announcer type that do it on Sundays, it was some character guy with a schtick.

Just take a look at the college announcing teams. There isn't much out there. I don't think Herbstreit and Fowler are that good on games. They are more studio guys to me. I like McDonough and Blackledge, but everyone would whine they are too boring for Monday Night Football.

Brian Griese was calling the game like you would expect the head of public relations for the Seahawks.
He must have said Seahawk domination like 8 times within the final 2 minutes before half

Kevin Harlan and Kurt Warner
Then put it on ABC

The Seahawks front 7 was indeed dominating the Saints run game in the first half.

Then they showed the stats from the first half which totally debunked their “domination “

I think the current broadcast team is just fine. They are solid.
This will be an unpopular opinion but O tried the Manning cast for the Saints game and just couldn't get into it. I've enjoyed the Manning cast when it's games not involving my teams, but I was getting annoyed last night when they would ramble off topic and miss commenting on a play. When it's my team I want constant coverage of the actual game.

Ironically, when the Saints were driving to their only TD of the game.

They need Gruden and Boomer back on the broadcast.

Agree 100%
ESPN Monday Night Football is a total disaster
Hopefully one of the major networks takes over when the contract is up

Manningcast is the best

What made MNF great back in the day was Howard Cosell doing game highlights at halftime. There was no ESPN, FSN or NBC Sports network that shows highlights everyday so it was the only show that had highlights of every game. It didn't hurt that Howard Cosell, Keith Jackson and Dandy Don Meredith were damn good at what they did!
