With the way the rules are, the falcons received a touchback, then Kirk Cousins went 1/7 on his last drive, but because of a penalty, they were automatically put in field goal range and they made the kick to win the game. It was such a chicken shite ending…. What the frick have we (they) done to football man? It fricking sucks no
Which part of this was due to new rules? PI spot fouls have been for decades.

3-2 game is an offensive shootout!
I mean, this could be a 21-14 football game. What's so bad about that?

I've been saying this for the past couple of years. Teams have placed TOO muich emphasis on "measureables" instead of guys who are just good football players and the game is suffering for it. Some of what you are seeing IS the defenses adjusting, more cover 2, but the passing decline is real. WR's are drafted/signed based mostly on their 40 times. Many are NOT good route runners, have poor hands/ball skills, and if the ball is not coming to them they don't play with full effort running decoy routes, run blocking, etc.

GM’s don’t get fired for using a first round pick on the 6’4” 230 lb freak that runs a 4.35 40 and has a 38” vertical jump that had a total of 1,000 yards in college if he doesn’t pan out. They will get fired if they draft the 6’1” 190 lb guy that runs a 4.55 40 with a 32” vertical leap but had 1,100 yards per season at the same draft spot and he doesn’t pan out.

QB though, hell no. They can make every throw yet 80% of their passes are at or around the LOS

That’s a philosophical shift in the play calling and the responsibilities of the qb. OC’s know that they can beat the gunslinger mentality out of the qb’s and constantly get 3-7 yards every pass play and never throw picks.

It’s just so unsatisfactory to watch a team dink and dunk down the field 3-7 yards a play knowing that there is nothing within the rules to stop it. It’s effective, it’s just not fun to watch in my opinion.

Didn’t the 85 bears get shredded by a “modern offense” back in 85 when the rules were still even?

Showing one look presnap then jumping into something totally different post snap. Stop being an arse.

You think that as the offensive schemes have evolved to become ever more complicated that the defensive schemes have simply stayed the same in terms of complexity?

That same defense was run by the Eagles up until 2009. Tennessee also ran it until 2008.

I think the game would be a better product if QBs could not run on a pass play.

Anyone remember this trash from last year? Not until the last few years have I given thought to the league orchestrating/influencing towards certain outcomes….NFL is going to treat Washington like royalty if Jayden keeps it up though

This same bs from the line judge happened in a few games last season and some really suspicious times

100% facts

There are more Cupps and Nakua's out there and sadly they are not given a shot for those reasons.

1994 the season stopped

I was a school kid during this season. Tommy lasorda came to NSU and we took a field trip to see him. I had a nice back and forth with him as a middle-schooler during the Q&A portion. My best memory of mid-90's baseball

I think all pro sports have declined. Too many other things to get our attention.

College football is just “too much” now. The monetization of the sport means it’s in your face all the time. I can watch 3 games at once all day on Saturday. Yet we still have days like tomorrow with very few interesting games.

Will enjoy being on the golf course on a nice fall day instead.

Flags are killing the game. Destroying the flow and momentum.
