I heard the Colorado State DC was available to replace Beamer.
Also, that firing is another good reason to get the coaching changes board up and running. Lot of interest in that one apparently.

After five games, Cal fans are already done with Tosh Lupoi. 
He brought in some talent (he's the master recruiter after all) and got everyone's hopes up, yet somehow the team is far worse than under Justin Wilcox.
They're not going to fire him so early, but one can hope. The reality is we're going to have to live with this miserable situation for at least a couple of years.

I don't necessarily disagree, but blowing 16-point and 17-point leads at home is tough to shrug off. Especially in year 6 coming off a 4-win season. You gotta win those if you expect to keep your job.

This is a shite take. SC has its challenges with its overall mediocre history. But there's a ton of resources available, and even retards like Muschamp and Beamer have stumbled into 9 win seasons.
Beamer is an atrocious gameday coach. SC has been outcoached this year in particular by two coaches that are newer to their programs, and have more historical challenges than SC does.
Carolina ain't asking for a playoff-every-year pressure cooker. But it's not unreasonable to average 7-5/8-4 with a stars-aligned playoff appearance every graduating cycle or so. That would get you a statue in Columbia.
