Idk why I thought about this but I dont think enough has been said about how confident UT was in getting Saban after the 2013 season. It all culminated in their end of the year banquet thing when Mack Brown led people to believe he would announce he was stepping down and then Texas would announce Saban within the next 24 hours
Naturally that didn't happen and apparently Brown went the total other way with it and really fought the notion that he wouldn't be back
There we rumblings for a little while it was happening but that banquet was supposed to be what put it all in motion and was a crazy 24 hours leading up to, and after, that whole ordeal
Pretty crazy story thats faded. Texas people to this day will tell you they had an agreement with him in place and they blame Mack not stepping down at that banquet as to the reason Saban never left as the heat on the move got too big. Guess we will never know how serious he was to making the move

MJ’s first retirement, Stern took that shite TO HIS GRAVE

That NASCAR and the other 42 drivers "fixed" the 2001 Pepsi 400 at Daytona , the first race back since Dale's death, so Dale Jr. could win.
Absolute BS.
Now having said that, I absolutely believe that divine intervention helped Junior to the checkered that night, w/Mikey right behind him. Dale Sr.was driving the car those last 6 laps, Junior was just along for the ride. I'll take that to my grave. The moves Junior made, the way he cut through the field those last 6 laps, that was his dad behind the wheel.
What a magical night that was. I still tear up whenever I watch that race. And I'm tearing up as I write this. It was truly a night touched by Dale, Sr.from up above and a night that made you believe in a higher power.

As a fellow Steelers fan, I can absolutely believe this.

Jeremy Pruitt showing up to Mark Richts house in the middle of the night challenging him to a fight.
Those close to UGA, including Mark Schlabaugh, have confirmed this to be true. And that it was Thomas Brown(who was the RB coach) who nearly ended Pruitt. And he would of.
I wouldn't want to get in a fight w/Thomas Brown, either. Dude is 5'7" but he is built like a brick shite house. Could squat 500 during his playing days.

quote:Fact: Pat Collins, who won the 1987 1-AA Natty at Northeast Louisiana, left the school the next year after being arrested for assaulting his wife.
Do you guys have any good local ones?
The rumors I heard:
1. He was fired.
and:
2. He came home early from a trip, and found his wife in bed with his OC.
3. The assault was him throwing an alarm clock that hit her in the head.
I think it's a true story. I think he resigned to keep the details of what happened from getting out. I kind of feel bad for bringing the whole subject up.
He went to Texas, and became the head coach at Longview. Took over their athletic directors position. When he retired from Texas, he came back to Louisiana and eventually became a consultant with the ULM Athletic Foundation, the same school he'd resigned from after his arrest. He also was inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.

... The team was ranked No. 1 in the nation before a game at Lamar.
“Stan threw six or seven interceptions,” Collins recalled. “And I benched him, and we played Walter Phythian, and we won the next game.”
But after a second loss, Collins knew he needed his star senior quarterback on the field.
ULM won its last four regular season games, one over a Brett Favre-led Southern Mississippi, before running off four playoff victories.
Collins was carried off the field on the shoulders of his team in Pocatello, Idaho, after a 43-42 national championship win over Marshall. It was a crowning achievement, both for ULM and Collins. It took some magic, as all great accomplishments do. But winning started with a plan.
quote:
“He said, ‘You have to set a tone. Do what’s best for your team,’” Mike Collins said.
It was advice his father had taken as his own counsel in 1988, a year after winning the national title, when he chose to resign after an arrest in a domestic dispute.
But the strong-willed kid had long since grown into a strong-willed man. Pat Collins focused on repairing his family and his career.
Those who know him were not surprised how that turned out.

It all occurred during a game. Karl had some strong thirst for Vanessa.
quote:
After the game ended, Vanessa had to walk Malone’s son back to his father. Upon reaching the front row, Vanessa asked Malone about his peculiar attire. He was wearing a cowboy hat. To that, Karl apparently replied with, “I’m hunting for young Mexican girls.”

The NFL is rigging games for the Rams because it would be embarrassing to not have a fan base in the Los Angeles TV market.

I mean, obviously. The cleat-chaser sorostitutes and collegiate gymnasts/swimmers are basically the hottest of the hot women that exist in the world.
I mean, who doesn't want to have sex with childless 21-23 year-old women in absolute peak physical condition who have almost zero responsibilities?
