Love when this thread gets bumped.
I was hanging out with my uncle from Lubbock over the holidays, and he claimed several people told him that prominent Texas Tech boosters were working on bringing Mike Leach back after the 2020 season.
Tech fans were already fed up with Matt Wells, and Leach was having a rough first season in Starkville, so the big money guys believed they could smooth things out between Leach and the university enough to make the move.
No clue if Leach showed any interest, but the rumor supposedly sparked the reports in November 2020 that Wells could be forced out soon. Kirby Hocutt or someone else at Tech caught wind of all this, and shut it down before it went any further.
I was hanging out with my uncle from Lubbock over the holidays, and he claimed several people told him that prominent Texas Tech boosters were working on bringing Mike Leach back after the 2020 season.

Apparently the stories about the Olympic athletes are mostly true. We have all heard the facts thst they hand out 50,000 condoms to the athletes. I would more surprised if it weren’t true. Young in peak shape athletes once they finish competing will be looking to burn off steam.

After reading Leach's book I'd say it would take a PILE of guaranteed money, and likely whatever he is supposedly owed up front, for him to ever consider going back to TT.

Wasn't Jeremy Foley supposedly banging all kinds of co-eds/female athletes during his tenure as Florifa AD, and that's why he "retired".

I firmly believe Zion got Covid in the bubble wich is why he left practices out of no wh were and came back unable to breath after like 2 weeks off.
He also came back to the team right when they NBA made the quarantine period shorter.
The NBA couldn’t afford to have the bubble pop especially with such a high profile player.

This was around 20 years ago during the NCAA tournament. I was at a wedding in New Orleans and I saw a good bit Florida basketball players leaving the hotel (New Orleans was hosting a portion of the tournament). Long after the wedding reception was over we were still having drinks when they came strolling in. They were in about the same shape as we were. They got upset the next day. They were a 2 or 3 seed from what I recall.

Quick internet search says this could be true. It was 2001 Tourney South Region opening rounds in the Superdome. #3 UF won on the Friday over #14 W. Kentucky 69-56. Then were trounced by #11 Temple 75-54 on Sunday.
That Saturday night/early Sunday that you saw them would have been the night before the Sunday game.

For Flyer’s hockey fans - Eric Lindros banged Rod Brind’Amour’s wife. Two stories after finding- Brind’Amour hit Lindros over the head with a folding chair and gave him a concussion, or, Rick Tocchet beat the crap out of Lindros and gave him a concussion. The rumor is this was why Brind’Amour was traded to the Hurricanes.
