Family of Blackfeet chief, face of NFL's Redskins, wants his image back in NFL

I had nothing but positive mental imagery about both.
The Redskins were my favorite team when I was little. I literally cried when the Saints beat the Redskins and their QB at the time Billy Kilmer in Tulane Stadium. I was five.
Aunt Jemima also brought nothing but good eating thoughts.

Honest question. Why can't they just rename the team the "Skins" and just be done with it. Is that not a win for both sides?
Bring back all the old logos and everything.

That’s a really good point Jake, that day is coming. I hate to tell the family but the name Two Guns is also very problematic to this crowd. I don’t have proof but I bet that name had something to do with the recent school shooting.

No, but you’re on to something. Rename the team the Washington White Calfs * and bring back his image and the old logos. It’s a win-win.
* FWIW, I understand that the plural of Calf is Calves, but you’re naming the team after his proper name not the animal.

The Chicago Blackhawks went the "tell the story and celebrate the person behind it" route, which is actually pretty cool, except they do the stupid "we acknowledge we stand on the land of *insert 8 tribes"" crap as well to satisfy the nut jobs.

I could absolutely see this happening. A new wave of liberal academics will start wondering why different non-white cultures are underrepresented in branding, so they'll start accusing teams and companies of being racist for not wanting logos with POC.

Call it Washington Football Team (WFT) and keep the logo.
