I agree, that was an inspiring display of toughness and determination.

Agreed. Hell I’ve always thought that was an overrated play

Over rated? Gtfo
It’s one of the most improbably Hail Marys ever, and the fact that the other team was already celebrating and then ran on the field gives it the “band is on the feel” vibe. There is no other Hail Mary like it, or even close to it. The idiots from Kentucky were trying to tear their goalposts down. When has that ever happened? I’m not saying it’s the best ever, but it’s one of the most memorable ones ever without a doubt.
How many Hail Marys thrown from the 20 are caught and scored on to win the game?

It has to be about the greatest sudden change when it means the most. Going from the agony of defeat to the thrill of victory in one fell swoop.

2nd and 26 in overtime for the national championship is just hard to beat for BAMA.

Hell, I'd put 3rd-and-17 vs Texas over the Bluegrass Miracle.

No

I'm good with Billy Cannon being one but the Bluegrass miracle is a very solid 2

Anyone saying stuff like this must be too young to actually remember it

For Iowa they have Tate to Holloway TD over LSU in the Cap One Bowl.

Should be #1 Iowa game winning FG over #2 Michigan.

improbable? sure.
unlikely? of course.
fun to watch? absolutely.

"iconic"? uhhhh, probably not. it didn't mean anything.
it was 2 middling teams on a JP broadcast that nobody outside those 2 fan bases cared about.

Billy Cannon's run was #1 vs #3 and clinched a Heisman

it's played damn near every year on ESPN as part of their Heisman highlights leading up to the ceremony.

Bluegrass miracle? It's replayed on WDSU once every so many years when Kentucky shows up on the schedule.

While Cannond run was legendary, I’d take Flynn to Green against UGA. Started that team on a magical run.

Nebraska is Johnny Rogers punt return against OU in the game of the century in 1971.

The run to daylight was a thing of beauty. The funny thing about that game is that the UCLA defense was instructed to pick up OJ after every carry real quick so he wouldn’t have time to rest.

Mate did you notice the amazing end zones for this game? USC honoured their worthy opponents with baby blue end zone paint in portions of both end zones and had “U C L A” spelled out within the diamonds of one end zone.

Amazing!

I didn’t say the bluegrass miracle should be above Cannons run. I’m saying nothing about it is overrated.
Hell I’d put Skylar Greens TD against UGA in 03 above it as far as most iconic, even though that play and even that game has started to become a little forgotten. I also don’t expect anyone but LSU fans to know that play.
