I was thinking more along the lines of if Georgia's offense had done their job in the red zone, that game would have been over. I consider red zone FGs a failure in almost every scenario.

What if LSU did their job in UGA territory, which they failed to do three times with a field goal, a blocked field goal, and a fumble? Or does that only cut one way?

Not trying to be a dick, but when one team (UGA) fails to ever hold a lead in the game, it's a little ridiculous to say they should have put the game away. It is the epitome of making excuses to say "well, if we played better and LSU played worse then the outcome would and should have been different." UGA twice had a chance to beat LSU in 2003. They failed both times. That should answer any questions about who should have won and who was the better team.

Further, LSU had a great RZ defense all season. Opponents were 11/28 scoring TDs (39%) and 15/28 scoring at all (54%). Maybe Richt just found himself matched up with the best defense in the country and struggled just like everyone else did. Ask Oklahoma, the #1 offense in 2003, how they fared against that LSU defense. To put it in perspective for you, their redzone defensive numbers were comparable to UGA's numbers in the redzone this past season, with LSU having a considerably better scoring % but slightly worse TD %. Boise St in 2011, I think, is the only defense since then who has had a better scoe % number in the RZ at 51% with most of the national leaders each year being at 60%+

TBH you should be thanking Tennessee for beating Florida and that Auburn outlasted Tennessee. Otherwise, you have gotten that second shot at LSU.

What’s funny to me is that were it not for kick six, the prayer in Jordan Hare seems just as viable a candidate as any for Auburn. Two weeks apart. Luckiest sons of bitches ever

If you get within the opponent's 40 yard line 6 times in a half and don't score a touchdown, you have failed and choked. That's what Georgia did that day.

Was it that or did you just run into the #1 defense in college football?

UGA led 3-0 for most of the first half of that game (IIRC) and failed to add on when their offense was moving the ball and LSU's was being stuffed cold. They had their chances to put the game away early, didn't, and paid the price for it. Good teams like LSU was punish you for your mistakes.

There was just so much luck involved, and it was to beat an inferior team.

The Cannon run and other plays I listed were much more meaningful and the result of skill.

Tulane's most iconic play was Reginelli's winning touchdown against LSU in 1982 on a 4th down.

I like the play that didn’t officially happen - Teague’s chase down and takeaway from Lamar Thomas vs Miami in the Sugar Bowl.

Van Tiffins FG vs Auburn ended the most exciting overall finish in IB history..

Considering his comeback from the injury heard around the world, Kenyan Drakes KO return vs Clemson in the NC game was heart warming and a great play.

You Better Pass may be the All-timer pre Hurry Up offenses.

"Stevie got loose" is the first one that comes to mind for me for Kentucky.

That can happen when you’re playing the #1 statistically defense in the country

Okay Bob Stoops

Being the #1 scoring defense is better than being #1 on total defense, considering that the game is won or lost via points not yards.

The 2011 Alabama defense was better than the 2011 LSU squad, statistically or otherwise. Sorry bro.

Points per game
Bama - 8.2
LSU - 11.3

Yards per game
Bama - 183.6
LSU - 261.5

The discussion was about 2003

I just looked it up, Alabama managed 213 yards and 3 points against LSU that year.

Fun fact on the App State play, the player who blocked the kick would later become Franklin Graham's son-in-law.

I think this person just threw a bunch of highlights together that he found on YouTube and called them the "most iconic" so he could drive up engagement.

Like for A&M, they took the play vs Bama when Manziel fumbled to himself and was able to throw a TD. That play was weirdly the one the media pushed as the Manziel highlight even though he had several I would argue that were much more jaw dropping.

But ignoring that aspect, as an A&M fan, a far more iconic play would be something like Sirr Parker scoring the game winning TD in OT on 3rd and 17 vs Kansas State in the 1998 Big 12 title game. That play capped off A&M's 15 point 4th quarter come from behind win over a KSU team that looked like it was about to play for the national title. LINK

Also, you know this guy did zero work looking for plays for G5s. The Texas State play that follows the A&M play is just a random one handed TD grab in the 2nd quarter of a game vs SMU.
