Wondering if the next round of sports contracts will have Amazon making ESPN the next Blockbuster.
ESPN has positioned itself very nicely going forward in this kind of world. They are killing it with ESPN+

It's always funny how Outkick chases around ESPN
does clay still think that ESPN views getting him fired and out of sports media is a legitimate organizational goal that ESPN executives take time out of their lives to strategize for?

People are tired of ABC's ongoing political rhetoric.

As soon as I saw woker, I figured it was Travis beating the drum again.

It's not a shocker. They changed from ABC to ESPN, changed the airdate, went from live to taped, didn't hand out sports awards because of incomplete seasons, there aren't live sports to advertise on...there were a lot of reasons why this was destined to fail.

I'm sort of surprised they went ahead with the ESPYS at all.

Everyone expected the ratings to drop this year. It was pre-recorded, lacked a live audience, and we haven’t had sports in months.

Yeah because ESPN sucks arse and no one wants to hear how racist everyone is during their sports.

But that doesn’t explain a drop of this magnitude. This type of epic decline follows a long pattern in ESPN’s attempt to be woker than the Twitter mentions of one of its TV personalities.

Oh.. maybe they'll get it. It's because they should shut up and dribble.. and cover sports.

Wonder if they will expand the +'s coverage? I have Disney plus, and would add the bundle if they covered CFB.

I've got you beat. I've never tuned in once. The closest I've gotten is watching Norm MacDonald's classic monologue on YouTube when he hosted.

...am I the only one who didn't realize the ESPYs still existed? In real life, I don't know anyone that pays attention to any award shows anymore.

pretty sure thats the plan. they beat everyone to the punch for a sport specific streaming site and have built up a legitimate subscriber base. they are going to push for live sports now and the further programming that comes with it

Would be a terrible business decision if they didn't. I would be leary of the tech giants tho. I am sure they are wanting a piece of the sports streaming market.

I cared about the ESPYs enough to vote once - 2006 when Prothro won "Best Play."

Back then that's about all Alabama fans had to claim.

Other than European soccer and Nascar, which most Americans don't care about, there hasn't been sports in 3 months.

The get back to sports is much better summarized as get away from politics. Discuss old teams. Discuss old seasons. Do hypotheticals.

People want outlets away from COVID and BLM. Be that

Turned 104.9 ESPN on the tuner the other day. 3 separate “commercials” of different clips of radio shows including Lebatard, golic and wingo, and they were all trying to outdo each other on wokeness. I have not listened since. I love 104.9 too especially bc of the local programming.

Apparently T-bob been buying soy in bulk at Costco.
