Above is the 11cst/12est ESPN schedule: since all those games are going to be on tv, does this new policy mean i will no longer able to stream them on ESPN3?

If you don't have
Bright side
Comcast xfinity
Time Warner
Or Verizon fios
Then those games will not be available. It's exclusive content.
As I said, you will only be able to watch lower tier games and to be honest, only if you are out of their respective black out zones.

Gotcha, thanks. This is just a huge step backwards. ESPN had to have made $$ off ESPN3 since they aired commercials and the streams also helped further the brand. I just dont get it...

It's a dangerous risk but they are doing it in hopes you and others will call cox/directv ad complain.

I actually like this for the simple fact that it means cox'll pick up watch espn sooner rather than later.

I really don't understand or like this. I pay for XBOX Live so I feel like I should get the "must-watch" games...

Agreed! I was pleased to see comcast get on board. Hopefully cox will be soon!

Basically if you don't have one of the previously mentioned 4 or 5 cable providers, you won't get any games that aren't directly on your TV. Which means if you live in ACC country like me, and you get the ACC 3:30 ABC game on TV but would like to watch USC-Oregon which comes on at the same time on west coast ABC, piracy is your only option. Unless you wait for it to end, know the final score, and watch the replay on ESPN3.

I didn't read all through this thread, but from the begin part, I don't think this is correct. The ESPNwatch thing is replacing ESPN3. The situation you are describing has long been available on ESPN gameplan. ESPN3 has usually been some 5th or 6th tier game.
ESPNgame plan is available on most cable/dish options.

wrong, wrong, wrong. Once again, its just people making an excuse for piracy as if many would not do it anyway. If there is a game you really want to watch and its not on your local TV AND you don't want to pay for game plan you can go to sports bar and watch it.

man you are a j/a
i think i rather watch it in the comforts of my home and not in a bar atmosphere.
you'll never get it. watching at a bar or friends house for free is no different than watching online for free. none. zero. ziltch. espn does not give 2 shits about college football streamed. they reserve the right to remove their own content if they wanted and they never have. they've only removed professional sporting events.
you ever listen to music on youtube?
any ways enjoy that hypocritical high horse you ride up on. i'm out.

No, ESPN3 has been every game on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC except the ABC regional game which was blacked out. Plus the 5th or 6th tier games, plus regional stuff. It was awesome. What they're doing now is making ESPN3 only for some 5th or 6th tier game that doesn't come on TV at all and fricking everyone that doesn't have a cable provider that has WatchESPN (which is a lot of people).

they are going out of their way to inconvenience me and at the same time fighting against technology tooth and nail so I choose to turn to piracy as a means of punishing said company.

That's not true. Last year I watched Oklahoma/FSU and Notre Dame/Michigan on ESPN3. I'm positive that both of those games were on ESPN or ABC on a sat night last year.
In the past, they have usually simulcasted the ESPN game and sometimes the ABC game on ESPN3. But that's really all beside the point. I want to see LSU/Idaho. Or maybe I want to see UGA/Georgia Sothern becuase I know someone playing in the game. Which brings me to:

Why should I have to pay *additional* money for this when someone else a few miles away gets watchESPN as part of his cable subscription?

You're not. I did it alot to prevent having to flip back and forth through the channels too. There were a couple big matchups last season that were the same day (I want to say one specifically was the same day/time as the LSU/Bama regular season matchup) and it was great to be able to access both at the same time.
There were also times I used it when I was at work.

This. I don't have cable, don't want cable. I pay 60 bucks a month for Internet and another 10 or whatever it is for Xbox Live. I'd even be willing to pay an a la carte fee for ESPN or HBOGO on Xbox. Instead they are holding a gun to my head to make me pay for cable. I have never pirated. I pay for my music. When I want to watch a movie or TV show that isn't on Netflix or Hulu I buy it from Zune or ITunes. If this is the way ESPN and cable companies want to do business I will not feel any guilt watching an illegal stream.

Isn't comcast the same as cox?

Never thought I say this, but thank god I have Comcast. Logged in last night to watch the UT/NCST game with no gripes

I thought I was supposed to still be able to simulcast if I have Time Warner? I have had a ton of blacked out games all day. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconAngry.gif)
