I said this before on here and most disagreed. I’m seconding you. I used to live in South Korea and went to Japan somewhat often and enjoyed my times in Osaka, Kyoto, Fukuoka, and Hiroshima more than my time in Tokyo....

2 weeks is a long time. I would plan on 3-4 days in the Algarve. 3-4 days in Lisbon. A couple of extra days in Porto on non conference time. An overnight in Douro Valley. Adjust if you want to go to Spain which is absolutely doable. You will be in peak Euro vacation season so good luck!...
