brand is going to launch EA Sports College Football at that time because of the enormous undertaking of creating the game from scratch.

I played NCAA 11 for the PS2 for years. That's when you could still do medical redshirts.

I remember recruiting a 2-star 6'7 receiver with my Tulane dynasty who ran a 4.17 40 but had a F for hands. He would cook basically every corner but had like 9 drops per game.

Another one was during my Rutgers dynasty where I was able to snag a 6'6" Elite 11 QB but blew out his knee on the very first play from scrimmage so I medical redshirted him, came back the next season and blew out his knee again...on the very first play from scrimmage. He transferred to Kent State and threw more interceptions than touchdowns in his final two seasons.

They better have online dynasty. I don't think they actually did it, but I know EA was considering taking away online franchise in Madden at one point.

I hope the player base doesn't get too split though. I always felt like the ranked games in NCAA were WAY better than ranked in Madden. After MUT became the premier game mode ranked in Madden went into the toilet. I've been top 100 in both but only grinded it out once in Madden.

Oh god, that forum drove me nuts. They requested the dumbest shite ever. Like a certain type of glove...WHO GIVES A shite? Fix the fricking gameplay and make recruiting better.

Funny stuff like that was always why I loved dynasty. In Madden the made up players you end up drafting after a while are just more annoying to me than anything. I like finding those diamond in the rough guys, moving their positions, recruiting athletes and figuring out where to put them, etc.

Oh for sure. Madden ranked matches were never as good for me. Maybe the variety of the college teams made it more competitive.

They better have online dynasty. So much more fun than recruiting and playing against the computer.

So much cheese in the ranked games. Yes, I've been ranked in the top 100, but it gets ridiculous when games basically turn into where both teams score every possession and the winner is determined by who gets a lucky turnover.

Positional changes were fun.

I had a 4 star slot receiver at Florida named Clinton Rhymes. Like 82 ovr as a junior, could never break the depth chart.

Spring going into senior year I switch him to corner. He’s still an 82. Then off season training results come in…

Game shows that rare BREAKTHRU icon and he jumps 14 points to 96 overall corner. Just incredible. Dude was a savage.

The player models in Madden are so dogshit

Why are the shoulders so wide? Also such small hands compared to the body. That looks ridiculous.

Edit: Just noticed his left foreman looks bigger than his bicep/tricep. Also, the left arm in general looks bigger than the right.

Yeah in some iterations of the game you could literally just run curls every play, and if the other player puts their DBs in bump coverage switch to streaks and have a slot or TE run a drag or slant as a safety valve

Also, I remember in dynasty when after a few years in a ton of teams ended up having black punters and kickers.

This happened in several versions of the game. Same with the dreadlocks when they introduced those that was mentioned earlier in this thread.

I used to kill people using Georgia when they Stafford. I had a play I would run and audible curls for B and X WR. I could rocket catch to either side for a good 12-15 yards a good amount of the time. Even bigger if I could break the tackle. I would just throw to the side the user didn't cover. A (slot receiver) had a nice long slant route across the middle. Georgia had a speedy guy for that, open almost every play. Would audible him to a streak on occasion. Audible random route for Y just for something different too.

Yeah, there are a few different ways. Always had to tweak it up a little from year to year.

Way back in the day, it was so fun running the option with Kansas state and Ell Roberson and Darren Sproles. Then years after with West Va and Pat White and Steve Slaton. Florida was also fun with Tebow. I'd roster move backup RB's Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps to TE and run the Gator Heavy and whatever else. Percy Harvin was an absolute beast. Too much speed on the field in 2 TE sets.

Those are just some that come to mind.

I remember all the black kickers and punters.

I loved the random spring training results and getting athletes and finding a spot for them.

Also miss taking Idaho and making them a power house

I loved positional changes. I recruited a 5'9" 245 FB that I switched over to RB after I reshirted him and dude was a tank. No one could tackle him. I hit the 1,000 yard rushing mark in the 1st qtr of the 4th game and sadly he ended up injured for the rest of the season.

I also had a very low rated freshman CB that was pretty small(5'7", 150) but speed was 92 so I would use him like a wildcat QB and return punts.

MUT actually could be really good if they weren't trying to get money out of that 1% of the player base that will spend hundreds or even thousands on it. The concept itself and how it works is really well done, its just too much of a grind or too costly monetarily to get around the grind.

I'm not arguing with you. I was always an online leagues guy myself. Building the team never held interest I wanted to play as real teams with their playbooks/roster. In undergrad I spent hundreds of hours on NCAA and Madden online, and then after I spent an incomprehensible amount of time playing FIFA leagues online.

But, x-UT has been built around that 1% of degens. Nothing can change it and it's made everything more simplistic and arcade-y

So if every single player opts in they all get a share which will come out to about $5 per player?
Plus all players like lineman and deep snappers will get same amount?

It was cool when after a few years when you could get invited into a new better conference and other teams would get downgraded.

I guess EA was way ahead of their time with the way things are going in current CFB and conference changes.
